Being grateful in your present moment. What a simple concept but so difficult to fully embody. Realize you are not the victim of your circumstances, and that a bad moment does not mean a bad life- this is how to be grateful in the present. To take each challenge and difficulty as it comes with gratitude as it is teaching you and leading you toward your best self. The journey of gratitude is not easy- as it challenges us to look outside of our little boxes of misery in order to see the full picture, and recognize the beauty of our challenges. We overcome and we look forward. 📸 @dr.danielle.dds#willistower#stillthesearstower#chicagoviews#yogawithaview#yogasquadgoldcoast#weflowtogether#yoga#gratitude#higherconsciousness

Common misperceptions on Yoga or Climbing:
“You need a lot of upper body strength to start climbing.”
“You need to be flexible to start Yoga!” The truth:
Yes, with time you will build up strength in your entire body when you climb.
Yes, with time you will increase the flexibility of your body and mind when practicing Yoga!
But the only things you need to start are a harness and shoes, a Yoga mat, and teachers you trust and that give you good tips.
Do you know any other misperceptions?
My #crowpose 🦅 ain’t perfect but I’m so thankful @yogasquadstudio choose me as a winner to attend tonight’s soundless yoga practice. 🧘🏼♀️ It was my first time to the Sears Tower 🌃 and the views were incredible. 😍 Special shoutout to @robinrunschicago for joining me and making this yoga experience even more memorable. #yogasquad
Been having an interesting couple of days... last night #Booboolechien got skunked! My neighbour left garbage outside our door 👍🏼 I also haven't been sleeping well, so when today at the supermarket this 4 year old kid latched onto my legs, it warmed my heart 💗 Maybe they could sense I needed a hug 💕
Just a #Mermaid on the shore, staring wistfully out to sea...
Day 2 of #DancingIntoFall is #MermaidPose and I definitely had to get good and warmed up for this one. Who am I kidding, I have to get good and warmed up for all variations of #dancerspose.
This stuff does not come easily for me😅, and that’s why I chose to host this challenge...cuz I like to work on the stuff that’s hard for me.
We’ve only just begun our 10 days of dancing variations, so if this stuff is hard for you too...join us!
Practice makes progress... and its ALWAYS a work in progress.
My best advice for this variation is to flex your toes WAY back to hold onto the elbow. If you can’t get your foot to your elbow, try looping a strap from elbow to foot and flex your toes back against the strap.
Use straps, chairs, scarves, belts, walls, children, husbands, stairs, doorways...whatever you can think of...props are GOOD! And don’t worry if you can’t clasp your hands together yet. Just dance at your level...YOU are beautiful.❤️

Oh Sunday my dear friend- I love you!
I used to dislike Sundays just because it means mean Monday is around the corner. But lately I really enjoyed them. Today I stayed in bed until 11.30 which is so not me. I woke up quite early and just spend some time sipping tea, reading and meditating. And I feel happier and more at peace than ever. Today is all about being in the present moment and doing what I love. Which is going out for a walk with my dear friend @committed.to.yoga, practicing some yoga and I will for sure bake something, too! Because Sunday is baking day! 😂
I haven’t taken any yoga pictures lately. It suddenly felt like so much pressure and I just wanted to practice without thinking about taking a picture. So I‘m taking it back to the good old days at my favorite place. I‘m taking all the me time I need today and am sure that I‘ll be back tomorrow with lots of energy, ready to host day 6 of our #mindfullightandlove yoga challenge!
Thank you for understanding and always supporting me! I really appreciate it! 🙏🏼💗

Hola 👋🏽 Took a much-needed break from IG and posting. Instead, I enjoyed being in Cabo for a few days on a shoot with @aloyoga , with @gypsyon__ & @joshkrameryoga (the commentator here 😂) . .
Dude, Hannah is such a bad-A, beautiful soul whose talent has extremely inspired me. I loved rooming with her and hanging out and trying to learn from her too. And gosh dang she’s so real and down to earth, it was very refreshing. .
In fact, that’s how all the Alo crew is. So kind, real, appreciative, encouraging, professional, respectful, hard-working, and just lovely to be around. I can’t wait til next time. @aloyoga 😘 💃🏽 💃🏽 .

Did you guys know that I practiced yoga for 15 years before I started Instagram Yoga? Or I should say I went to yoga classes anyway...lots of them! I even did my 200 hour Yoga Teacher training long before I got into taking these yoga pics. But I never was able to cultivate a strong home practice, and therefore my own asana practice was pretty limited. I definitely couldn’t do any of these “fancy poses.”
But once I discovered Instagram Yoga and started participating in Yoga challenges, I learned to intelligently sequence my warm up to build into a deeper pose...safely.
In yoga class, I might get to do wheel pose for all of 2 minutes....my body doesn’t open up in 2 minutes. I need to coax it gently and slowly into this pose...after coaxing my quads, hip flexors, abs, chest, low back, upper back, shoulders, and WRISTS! I don’t remember ever warming up my wrists for this pose in class...and they are such an important part of this pose.
Classes are great...and I LOVE going to yoga class, but a consistent home practice is how I found progress in my asana practice. And I found my home practice by participating in yoga challenges here on Instagram.
If you’ve never tried one, what’s stopping you? You don’t want to bug your friends with Yoga pics every day? Start a new account, just for Yoga, and don’t tell them about it. You don’t think you’re good enough? We are ALL GOOD ENOUGH. And besides, what are you gonna use for a progress pic in the future if you don’t take any pics now?🤷♀️
You will learn A LOT by seeing yourself in video. There is no competition here...only inspiration and support. IG Yoga is a big ol’ love bomb. Join the #IGyogafam and see for yourself!❤️❤️❤️

Day 3 of #LetTheElementsInspire.
🌊 Empowered ~ Standing Pose 🌊
Believing in ME. That is my gift to myself and I've never felt more empowered. Almost four year ago I gave birth to my first son in our home after months of mental and physical preparation; from start to finish it took two hours and eleven minutes and to this day, still the most powerful and humbling experience of my life. I was strong and never doubted myself.
I've always been one to believe I could achieve anything and I'm still proving it to be true today. I started yoga almost 4 years ago and can press handstands, 32 years old and I'm learning to surf. Next on my list is climbing. I've got some mad inspiration and will never stop - in my mind thats the definition of empowered. Chair pose on my surf board at dawn patrol. .
"The body achieves what the mind believes."

Being in nature is my favorite way to reconnect and ground myself again. Thank you @gramm_e for giving me an excuse to revisit my old stomping grounds in Santa Barbara.
