Right before we left to drive to Homer on this trip, I seriously injured myself at 11 pm in a pretty nasty bike crash (and I am not the most coordinated cyclist so I have some experience here). Ironically, at midnight that evening I got kicked off my fancy full coverage health insurance and I wasn’t even sure if I was covered by the new plan. My mom, who was biking with me, started crying as she exclaimed that my foot looked broken. She had just been yelling at @leftsfordays to stop screwing around on a bike because “It’s too late to drive to the ER tonight” as I had laughed. Perhaps also ironically, 48 hours prior I had become a certified EMT. But a new label doesn’t stop you from doing stupid shit.
A few days and x rays later and I discovered that thankfully I had avoided breaking it, and thankfully new coverage had kicked in.
So yeah. Bad things happen... but good things happen. Hobbling down this beach in good company (cast free) was the best possible outcome in this situation. I got to sleep on the sand and play with my dog and fish for 3 days and not catch a damn thing. It’s a mix, right? 🗻🌊🐟 #stilldostupidthings#homer#alaska#kenaipeninsula#katchemakbay#failing#justsometimes#homestate#fishing#truth#letsbehonest#iceandelevate#doit#wipeout#queenofwipeouts#spitrat#adulting? #getinsurance
I wish they had ceramic pro coatings years ago. It would have made life so much easier with all the black vehicles I’ve owned. Add Reset ceramic wash and Wipeout detailer and man o man does that black ever shine!!! 😱 #nofilter .
