I only had to gain 20 lbs to look like him, and when he shaves his beard, he looks like me 😜
I refused to see the resemblances growing up, actually I resented the similarities, but now I'm ok with them. I'm not threatened by the idea of being a bit like my mom, a bit like my dad, a bit like my siblings, a bit like that uncle or a bit like that grandparent.
I realized that sometimes when somebody is trying to point something negative out to you about yourself they'll say "oh! you're exactly like.....", and they don't mean it in a good way. They're trying to tell you that there is something in you that they don't like that they've also seen in someone else, but what they're lacking to realize is that they're seeing it again and again because it's actually a part of them too.
Luckily I've come to that point in my life where I'm comfortable being a little bit like all of them, but always 100% myself. I choose to see the good parts of them that I resemble too. The tenacity , the drive, the passion, the courage, the strength, and the love. Just a few of the great things that run in my family genes.
Money flows to me with ease and abundance!
This statement will either trigger feelings of joy or discomfort.
I struggled for years to put my finger on why my relationship with money was so tumultuous.
I came from humble roots until I was adopted into a more affluent family. My concepts of abundance were all wrapped up in my childhood and then, adult experiences.
Some things I heard and embodied were; *Money is the root of all evil (my early religious training, bleh!) *Rich people are assholes (Kids are sponges and I watched how money made people I loved act with superiority over others. It felt bad then, it feels bad now. A good friend once told me, "money doesn't change you, it brings out who you already are." Truth) *You're either born to be rich or poor. (Erm...bullshit. I don't believe in Fate)
There are many, many statements and ways in which we are psychologically and emotionally conditioned to view money negatively. It takes integrity and courage to dig deep into that quagmire and do the work required to release those patterns. We use all kinds of tricks to fool ourselves into thinking our money issues are gone. We avoid the word itself, try to be spiritual about it, talk about giving it all away if we had a decent pile of it, we downplay why we want it or need it. We say money isn't everything...oh, the pit is quite deep.
The other day, a friend spoke about viewing money as if it were a person, and how would we speak to it, how would we behave and treat that person?
I've gifted my money 'person' with words that would make them and I feel good about our relationship, words such as; kindness, generosity, love, flow, safety, openness, abundance, creativity, release, acceptance, ease, beauty, respect.
How would you describe the dynamic between yourself and money? Often, it is connected with how we value ourselves. The more I love myself, the more money becomes an energy I can welcome with an open heart. Continuing with the theme of money mindset shifting, here are some quick example money mantras to practice to help jumpstart your wealthy headspace: ✨Abundance flows easily to me. ✨I am grateful to money because it provides me with everything I need. ✨Money always has my back. ✨Money energy flows to me and through me and circulates back to me. ✨Money is an abundant resource and is infinitely available to me.
We understand these may sound cheesy, but if you repeat something long enough, you really start to believe it. For more on money mindset, stick with us as we cover it in our upcoming blog that will be launching in a few weeks 😉
Many of us have negative thought processes surrounding money. However, shifting your mindset to a place of abundance from scarcity can be very powerful.
Without this paradigm shift, you could work your tits off for the rest of your life to painstakingly build a decent fortune – but guess what? Every dollar you earn, receive, spend, invest, give, and donate will be a source of stress. Every credit card payment, phone bill and tax will ignite a tiny internal rage, and you’ll find yourself shopping for larger and larger wine glasses with each passing year.
Repeating positivity can be truly life changing. Develop a money mantra. Write it on your mirror, stick it on your fridge, recite it when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed. And furthermore, completely ELIMINATE the phrase “I can’t afford it.” It’s like the dream you had last night or the poem you wrote – NO ONE cares to hear it!
// Our FINANCIAL HEALTH is EXACTLY like our PHYSICAL HEALTH
Turning a blind eye to your businesses’ finances (your expenses, budget, income, goals and mindset) and then wondering WHY you’re not making any money in your business, is exactly like NOT watching what your putting in your mouth and wondering WHY you’re not losing weight!
It simply doesn’t work!
And not only does it not get you the results you WANT, but it’s also the fastest way to burn out, feel frustrated, confused and left wondering WHY it feels so damn hard to make a buck..
Which is not the sort of beliefs you can afford to build in the early stages of your business…
Knowing WHERE you should invest, knowing WHAT your income goals are and knowing WHERE you’re currently spending your dollars is THE most empowering thing you can do..
This allows you to truly step up as the CEO of your business...because newsflash you already are whether or not you’re ACTING like her..
Just like as soon as you empower yourself to LOOK at if the food you’re eating is actually impacting your body positively or negatively..
The sooner you empower yourself to look at how your investing, spending and earning in your business the more comfortable you’ll be making decisions for the growth and sustainability of your business AND the faster you’ll see financial results.
