Summer’s unexpected chill on ice-cream sales in Australia ….One of the main trends in the ice-cream business is customers shunning traditional products because of our waistlines according to IBIS world, with new years resolutions for healthy eating. The brand @overthemoo tapped into conscious eating when the founder, Alex Houseman being vegan, created his ice cream brand due to his own lactose intolerance.
Rising health consciousness amongst consumers are putting the brakes on industry growth in Australia, a trend that is set to strengthen. The players concentrating on low-sugar, low-fat, lactose-free, vegan and other food intolerances and living choices are gaining momentum. New ice-cream businesses such as @patandstick are developing plant-based and sugar free “healthy” ice cream. Whilst @gelatissimogelato chief executive Felipe Barbossa predicts that there will be a wider demand in the market for such a product.

vegan, gluten-free chocolate chip peanut butter and jelly cookie ice cream 😭🍫🥜🍦who needs a few fat snowballs in their life?!🙋🏽♀️ look no further, here’s a simple 8-ingredient plant-based ice cream recipe made with leftover pb&j cookies!!!
what you’ll need:
@fishandkalechips’ vegan, grain-free, sugar-free pb&j cookies (recipe on my last post! 👀🤤)
1 can full-fat unsweetened coconut milk (refrigerate overnight so cream settles at the top of the can)
collagen & l-glutamine (or sub. vanilla protein powder)
vanilla stevia (or vanilla extract)
peanut butter (used: @crazyrichardspb)
chocolate chips or choco chunks
directions: in a vitamix or blender add approx. 3/4 cup coconut cream from top of canned coco milk and add a splash of the coconut milk, 1 tbsp chia seeds, dash of cinnamon, 4 drops vanilla stevia (or vanilla extract), and 1/2 scoop collagen and 1/2 tsp l-glutamine (or can sub. vanilla protein powder). blend until smooth and transfer the creamy ice cream into a glass bowl to then add 2 crumbled @fishandkalechips’ pb&j cookies, pb drizzles, and choco chunks. mix together and finish off with another pb drizzle for maximum dreamy peanut butter swirls🤤🥜. leave in the freezer for at least 20-25 minutes and enjoy these fat bomb snowballs. makes 3-4 big scoops 🙌🏼🍨
Wasn’t able to find the new vegan magnums at Woolworths so of course @thegoodgrocerleedervilleiga came through with the goods. I managed to snag a box of the plain ones but I still need to track down the almond version! These are seriously as good as you expect and I like that they aren’t coconut milk based and actually taste like the traditional magnums only I feel like they’re a little smaller 🤦♀️If you can get your hands on these then DO IT! My only complaint is that there’s only 3 in a box #huh
We live in a wonderful world 😂 but for real these are SO good! Can’t wait for them to be available in woolies so I can get them easily without driving super far!
