Wasn’t sure how it would feel, but officially did my first run while pregnant! Felt really good, minus some back pain I’ve been experiencing.
One of my biggest goals, regardless of starting and stopping countless times, is to run an ultramarathon. I’m not sure what it is, but I just feel like there’s something I need to know and it’s on the other side of a 50-mile foot race. *no, I’m not going to train for an ultra while pregnant, but I have a healthy pregnancy and doctor clearance to run which will help me when I start to train postpartum*
Peek another peak, Galapagos Islands’ Sierra Negra volcano on Isabela Island. At 1100m above sea level, this caldera is the second largest in the world at 10km across.
When I travel I can’t help but notice how flora differs ever so slightly all over the world. Swipe to see unique bracken fern and the rare Darwiniothamnus, some of vegetation that takes initial hold on the lava fields post-eruption.
These images were captured just over two and a half years after it erupted in the mid-2000s. It’s hard to see the edges of the caldera because of debris in the air; the day before I arrived, the nearby ultra peak and active volcano Cerro Azul began to erupt for the second time in a week. The last image shows the red glow of the eruption on June 4th, 2008.
