In Kyoto (Japan) there's a stunning area that starts from the Kiyomizu-dera temple in which the time seems to be stopped at the medieval times. Even if the street that starts from the temple is studded with shops and restaurants, the buildings maintain the style of the Middle Ages.
It is surely one of the most touristic zones of Kyoto, but it is at the same time one of the most beautiful in my opinion.

Prehistoric humans probably thought this was the edge of the earth. Just cliffs dropping off into a watery abyss.
Okay, this is worth a Wikipedia search... 😆
Apparently in Mesopotamian mythology, the earth was a flat disk floating in a sea of water. Then the Ancient Greeks came up with the spherical earth concept we now know today. 🤔
In 2019, we feel like our understanding of the universe is pretty good. Perhaps infallible in some cases. But I bet in few hundred years people will look back at our early 21st century ideas and think that some of them were pretty dumb. 🧬
I think it’s important to remain open minded. Never hold onto an idea or assumption that you aren’t willing to change if evidence to the contrary becomes apparent. 📚
If you look closely you can see us scouring for goodies! No matter where in the world we find ourselves, we always make it a point to stop and explore the local markets. Filled with everything from fruits and veggies to clothing and noodle soups, what’s not to love?? What are you on the hunt for at the market?? 🍉👕🍜💎
Today, I want you to know that you’re stronger than you think. You’re more capable than you realize.♔ Strength doesn’t mean that you’re not afraid at all. It just means you have the ability to keep going even when fear and doubt say you can’t. So YOU GO GIRL! ♡
I have a lot of stories to tell because I've been down a lot of roads people haven't been.
