🇺🇸➡️It has been a 1,5 months since our last trip. Many things happened throughout this time, including New Year and Christmas, many new plans in our heads, more savings, less spending. I was in Rome not long ago and saw the Colisseo, the weird shaped trees and smiley Tourists. Now it is time for cold weather, black sand beach, hot spring lagoons and hopefully ( as I have been dreaming about it for a while) the magic of Northern Lights! Can't wait till I see it with my own eyes ( I will try not to cry😂).
I read an article the other day that hit me hard; The terrible things about travelling that nobody tells you.
In a short paragraph summing up this work of wonder, this is my lessons pulled from it.
While travelling, backpacking specifically, things go wrong. I've slept in train stations, in parks, had my wallet stolen, faced bed bugs in hostels, but the truth is you get through that. You get stronger and you grow and you come out with a book 10,000 chapters deep in all the impossible, unlivable situations youve made it through.
But the truth is, thats not the worst bit.
The hardest thing, out of all of that, is coming home. At first its wonderful, your the shiny new object with all the impossible stories, but after a month, you begin getting questioned. Are you going to school? Do you have a job yet? What are your goals? And suddenly you realize staying still will never be fullfilling enough to keep you alive. You need risk and adventure and people. And youll soon say your goodbyes and take off running again.
I would like to publish a book. I want a little block of paper with my words, and my name on it, that will be translated into other peoples modivations and visions. I want to inspire people. To move them, and make them feel something. Without that, how can you ever feel alive?
While walking in the lovely streets of montreal, i ran into a lovely painting, done by my favourite, @olavolo#ootd
