Coming back from an injury is hard. You (frequently)feel defeated, desperate, challenged .. even apprensive at times.
Tonight doing hills was a struggle at first- I felt heavy and slow.... so slow. And it hurt, it hurt bad. But that’s when the real athlete preserves and endures the pain.
Some people say to stop. But when you have major injuries, pain is part of the recovery process. Stop? Hell nah....No chance. I love the challenge. The challenge consumes me. The challenge defines me. THIS challenge will make me better, I know for a fact.
Pushing the boundaries, always. NO. MATTER. WHAT.

Here’s some wonderful lessons this video teaches us: 1) always be situationally aware. 2) there’s always one more bad guy (which this guy was able to see and engage) 3) counter ambush from retention (you see me do this ALL the time). Not only is it fast and effective, but it affords the good guy time to create space and get hits on target all the while reminding the armed bad guys “this is not where you want to be.” The sounds from a gun shot trigger our auditory senses that overwhelm our brains conscious motor processes. When the shooting starts, people will run away because that’s what happens. -
We see this over and over again in scenarios from all over the world. What’s the difference here? This dude is trained and ready. Are you?
Yes that’s my voice over. 🎥@gunfufighting -

Craving a change in the routine... I tend to get bored every few months or so and need to switch it up. I recently have been into high intensity boot camps but YEPPP it’s that time again 😛 -

“Getting back on track” ISN’T REAL👣
Truth is... you’re always “on track”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sure, that track might turn away from certain goals, take detours, or have stops along the way, but it’s 👏🏼 still 👏🏼 your 👏🏼 track 👏🏼
We get so wrapped up in looking a certain way, making x amount of money, buying the next cool thing, achieving a higher status— all of that surface level shit— that we forget to ENJOY THE RIDE.
True story: I used to be so wrapped up in going to the gym and micromanaging my food that I missed out on the real life stuff that was happening right in front of me. I believed that I had to be 100% on point with my fitness in order to get my dream bod, and then dream bod = happiness. (Side note: my sweet spot of balance for REAL happiness is actually ~80% structure/20% yolo)
But what happened in the pursuit of said dream bod is that life literally passed me by.
By sticking to the straightest, most “efficient” track to my goal (which didn’t even make me happy in the end, BTW) I realized that our tracks aren’t meant to be straight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our tracks are meant to curve, climb, and even turn back at times. Sometimes it’s a challenging route that teaches you lessons that you need to learn, and sometimes it’s the scenic route. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, next time you find yourself anxious about getting “off track”, remember that life isn’t about on vs off— you’re always on. So do your best to make the most of wherever you’re at and remember to enjoy the damn ride 🚘✌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS just chatted more about this on my story! Check it out if you’re interested in how I apply this stuff to health and fitness ❤️
