Happy Monday! A new week means new goals to crush. My goals for the week include:
Drinking more water. I have been majorly slacking and I can tell that it is affecting me. (How many times does this have to be my goal until I figure it out?)
3 core workouts this week. Last week I did three and got them in before my cardio sessions (except Saturday was after because I wasn’t in a rush)
Today was....leg day, surprise, surprise. I have PT/OT this afternoon, so hopefully that goes well.
What are your goals for the week?
MONDAY MOTIVATION: We all start our journey in a different time. Some have been on their journey for longer than you. Some will have to face set backs like injuries and some will be more genetically gifted than others. There is no point trying to compare your journey with someone else’s. You might be on the same road, heading in the same directions, but yet not be in the same place. Focus on your own progress and be proud of your achievements. Applaud those around you and let’s do this together... #strongnotskinny#fitgirlsrock#gymmotivation#mondaymotivation#lulufitness#iamlulu#coachlulu#kettlebell#strongisthenewsexy

I've been praying for healing lately. Healing in an emotional and spiritual sense, not physically. In the book I just finished, Unexpected by @christinecaine, she talks about this specifically.
She says, when asking God for healing, it's not just, "'Do you want to be healed?' But, 'Are you willing to give up this old identity for a new one? Are you willing to give up your limitations for freedom? Your victimhood for victory? Your blaming for owning? Your disappointments and bitterness for grace and forgiveness?' We cry out to him, wanting to move forward, but how would we answer if he asked us: 'Do you want to let go of the past once and for all, including forgiving all the people who have wounded you? Are you willing to do the work of uncovering bitterness and uprooting it altogether? Are you willing to give up trying to control every facet of your life? And make more room for me?'" .
When I read this, it settled deeply in my heart. Knowing that God has SO much more for me, knowing that His healing brings FREEDOM, and knowing that He will do amazing things through me and for me if I let Him. .
And the same goes for you. If you're needing healing, He has it. If you're needing to let go of the past, He will help you.
Pretty sure every part of my body hurts thanks to this WOD yesterday 😅

It’s been an absurdly stressful, busy week overflowing with mishaps and unexpected challenges.
Between being horrendously understaffed at work, trying to slap together the schedule, covering sick calls, finishing secondary apps for medical school, and moving to a new house on top of it all, I’m constantly exhausted and pushed past all the limits I once had.
But you know what? These emotions, while unpleasant, aren’t even in CLOSE to how shitty being in the midst of depression is. Yes, I’m stressed out, yes, I’m angry crying a lot (though it doesn’t take much to make me cry), yes, I’m meeting the outer edges of how much I can handle, but I can recover my bad moods and change my day. There are still joyful and positive and fun moments in every day. I still get to be me, Sasha, without ruminating on suicide or devising new plans for extreme weight loss.
I used to wonder what my life would be like were I more mentally and emotionally stable. I guess I’m exploring that new territory right now.
This is completely mind blowing to me! #Repost from @shawnbaker1967. Yes, sawdust (often labeled as cellulose) is a regular component that is added to many processed foods- these are very cheap ingredients and provide basically zero nutrition- we are seeing a growing push by these “food” manufacturers to demonize diets that ultimately get rid of their products - be it Paleo, Keto or Carnivore- I think it’s time we gave them the middle finger and say, we don’t want to eat your crap anymore!! #meatheals#carnivorediet
I think it’s time to start setting the alarm to get everyone waking up early so the start of school isn’t such a shock. Time to get back to my #5amcrew

Made today oats with plant chocolate protein and you know, I like it! It was so thick and so chocolate 😋 i made my oats on coconut milk, that makes it even more thick. strawbs, coconut flakes and hemp hearts for the topping. Have a lovely day, guys😉
Enjoy😊
Back to reality after spending the best weekend with my stepmom ❤️ What better way than with a breakfast bowl? 😎 Had one prepped sweet potato left so I paired it with an easy fried egg and avocado 👌🏻 Plus a side of fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth 😉 Connie headed out this morning but it was such an amazing weekend ❤️ I feel like when you don’t get to see someone often, it makes the time you have together even more special. We got my wedding dress Saturday, ate with Eli at a fun brewery, and then Sunday we we to church, she helped me deep clean the kitchen, and of course had to get some regular shopping in there 😉 I took a break from Instagram kind of and it was so nice! I love being able to run my account but it felt good to just put the phone down be in the moment 💕 Looking forward to catching up with everyone today though!! Even after only a day away, I miss connecting with you guys ❤️ Hope your week is off to a wonderful start and you had a great weekend! ————————————————————————————- #breakfast details 👉🏻 1 egg fried in ghee topped with @traderjoes African smoke seasoning + 1/2 avocado + pea shoots + 1 baked sweet potato (400F for 45 mins) + strawberries and bananas 😋

Shall we talk about the business of yoga and ethics?
You take a yogi and put him/her into the real world to fend for themself. They know all about non - attachment but self-marketing? No clue. You have to go to studios, gyms, and SELL your craft. As a freelancer, you are a creator, marketer, salesman, accountant and many other things. None of which your YTTC equiped you for. So you're struggling and finding your way to balance yoga and business.
In a scenario like this propreitors of these institutions (basically people with the financial backup) play an integral part of our careers. But what are we do when they start bad- mouthing us all over town? In a corporate scenario, if an employee makes a mistake - they are reprimanded.
But yoga instructors are mostly freelancer employees and bad mouthing us over town to fulfill your gossip quota for the day- not professional, not cool.
I'd like to think of myself as an artist. And as long as I deliver my craft, nothing else should matter.
My flaws should be pointed out to me to be corrected- not to my fellow instructors. Especialy not as weapons to boost their good points.
We are yoga instructors- we are super flexible. We don't need that buttering up.:) I understand that we are all yogis first and businesspeople later, but even businesses run on ethics.
All I know is karma is real. So if I have been a bad instructor, it will come back to me.
But if I have unintentionally seemed like a bad instructor due to health and personal reasons, and you have termed me irresponsible (while I did my job wonderfully at the expense of my own health) and unreliable without taking the time out to understand my mental status- then - Karma is real. :)

With fitness, consistency is key! Building those habits and holding yourself accountable is crucial, ESPECIALLY when you're busy. Despite whatever vacations, late nights at work, friends visiting, etc I have going on, I make myself and my health a priority.
Today for example I had exactly 1 free hour to spare between getting home from work and hitting the road to head to Vail for the weekend - not enough time to spend 30 min round-trip in the car to go to the gym. But instead of making excuses and skipping my workout, I went down to our tiny apartment gym that doesn't have any fancy machines, ellipticals I like, or *gasp* even a barbell. And I have to say, I actually had a killer upper body workout!
I didn’t realise so many people would notice that I changed my username. I’m still very passionate about health and fitness and will continue to share my journey but it’s very much just become second nature and apart of my everyday life now. While I’ll forever be proud of my physical transformation, my favourite will always be my mental one. So much has changed since this photo was taken six years ago, I almost died, I had my world flipped upside down and yet here I am, so incredibly grateful, happier, healthier and feeling more me than I’ve ever been!

🤸🏼♀️ How did I get into fitness? 🤸🏼♀️
It all started when I was around 7 years old, I joined my local gymnastics club and I fell in love ❤️ with the sport. As my grandad used to say ‘Do you spend your life upside down?’ Because I used to be practicing every minute of everyday!🤸🏼♀️
As I got better my training got more intense, I would train 5/6 days a week for 3 hours at a time😵! I competed in lots of competitions, up to county level! 🥇
When I hit my teens and went to secondary school I found myself missing out on a lot of things with my friends because of training, so in the end this is why I gave up (really wish I didn’t now but hey ho).
I still kept active after giving up, and joined the gym for the first time when I was 16, probably for all the wrong reasons and spent a lot of time doing cardio 🏃🏼♀️ because I didn’t know how to do anything else.
When I went to university to study PE I joined the gym there and this is when my passion for the gym and fitness really started! I used Instagram to teach myself new things and that was the starting point for me really, I’ve never looked back since! 🏋🏼♀️
After finishing uni and going to live in Australia for a year, this is when I decided I wanted to study to become a PT when I got back home, and help people reach their own fitness goals 💪🏼
I’m now a qualified gym instructor and literally weeks away from becoming a full qualified PT
and I literally cannot wait to grow my own business and see where this takes me ☺️!
Swipe ⏩⏩ for a peek at little old gymnast me (thank god I grew into my ears... kinda 😂!)

What are your favourite treats? By @smurray_32
Following up from yesterday’s post, several of you made it a point to bash the fact that I was condoning the eating of SOME junk food so let’s address this & put things into perspective. Not ONCE have I EVER said that you should consume all of your kcals from junk. I am (& always will be) a firm advocate of the 80:20rule whereby the majority of your diet consists of whole, nutrient dense foods with the remaining 10-20%kcals OPTIONAL to go towards “less clean foods” shall we say. This is because A) There’s no evidence to suggest that you can’t still meet the required micro needs to be HEALTHY while consuming SOME “empty kcals” (Livingstone & Rennie 2007, 2009) & B) Research has even shown that you would have to consume >20% total kcals from pure table sugar before it becomes impossible to meet your micronutrient needs (Gibson 2006, Gibson & Boyd 2009).⠀
Therefore, junk (in moderation ie. 10-20% total kcals) isn’t as “detrimental” as you think however, even then, several of you will read the above & still conclude that 10-20% of your diet coming from junk is just too much. I mean 10-20% is a lot, right? Not really. Perspective. For a 2500kcal diet, any of the above “treats” have the ability to contribute to ~5-10% of total kcals thus already “capping” your “treats” for the day (assuming you stick within a 90:10 range which I personally advise you do). Even then however if you were to purposely try & push your “junk kcals” to 20%, a burger & mini McFlurry would be the absolute MOST that you’d be able to squeeze in which, in the grand scheme of things, isn’t THAT much considering you’re then going to HAVE to fill in the remainder of kcals from fruits, veggies, lean proteins, healthy fats etc.⠀
Just some food for thought, 10-20%kcals isn’t as much as you’re likely imagining it to be & in reality, often ends up looking something like the occasional 200-300kcal from 1 donut (not 20) which, is NOTHING in the context of a mostly whole food, nutrient dense diet. Final analogy, if you got 10-20% in an exam would you say that was a lot? NO & the same rule applies for flexible dieting.⠀
