It feels good to take charge of my life. It feels good to work towards something instead of just working. It feels good to help others. It feels good to put myself first for once. 10/10: today, for the first time ever I ran 10 miles. I beat my average mile time by 10 seconds. I’m 10 days away from my first half marathon. And for the first time, I feel ready. Today was a good day! #runningjourney#proud#slayinggoals 👊🏻🏃🏼♀️
I was the stay at home NOT working mom 😐. And by not working I mean on ANYTHING . I didn’t work a job , on myself , on building a future for me and my kids , or to even enjoy the life we already had 🤷🏼♀️. I was stuck mom 🙁 stuck feeling sorry for herself , angry at the world , insecure, judged , plain MISERABLE 😖! And everyone around me KNEW it 😓
I felt like I wasn’t allowed to feel those things or work on changing them because I was in fact a MOM 👩👧👦 and what I was ALWAYS told was when your a mom YOU no longer matter 🙅🏼♀️😦 Which just IS NOT TRUE ! .
I invested in MYSELF and put myself first for once and guess what 🤨 ? Do these kids look like they are missing out on life because their mom decided it was NECESSARY to work on being a better woman in EVERY aspect of hers AND their lives?! No because we are living our best damn life now that mom isn’t a miserable mess sitting on the couch all day feeling sorry for herself 🙌🏼
It is OKAY 👌🏼 to be a mama and NEED change ❗️I always say I changed my life for me , really I changed my life for us 👨👩👧👦 Stop watching me and my family when you can find your happiness too 🙌🏼❗️

Y'all. I'm exhausted.
This #halfmarathontraining is no joke.
But boy howdy, has this journey been one heck of a learning experience! ⏱Time is critical. Trying to make it, improve it, wake up in enough of it...time has become a big deal. What gets me is that I am making time for these runs. Creating space in my day to make sure I get the training in. Whether it's waking up at 4:30am (or 4:15am, thanks to my beautiful, precious 3 year old alarm clock 🤦🏼♀️) or rearranging my "free days" to get a run in, I'm making it happen.
But WHY?! Why am I doing this to myself?? Because it's important to me. Because I promised myself I would do this race and run the whole time.
Because I want to show others (and myself!) what it's like to set a goal for yourself and slay it!
God placed this run on my heart, crazy as it sounds, and I'm so excited to be able to use these #thunkiechighs to encourage others in reaching their goals 😂🤣😂🤣 Who knew #thunkiechighs could do THAT?! He has been gracious every step of the way (literally) and his strength is getting me through these long days.
But imagine with me for a sec- if I can put my mind to running 13.1 miles and DO it, what else can I do? What else can YOU do?! If you can hit that one goal you've made for yourself, you can hit another, and another! The momentum is pretty awesome!
So set your eyes on a goal that is important to YOU, take the actions necessary to get you there and knock it out of the park! You can do it!
