Lizzie has been with #aberdeenscottishterrierrescue for about a year now. We believe she is a Maltepoo. Clearly this sweet amazing girl had a rough past. Her body bears signs of having birthed and raised many litters of puppies and then being dumped on the streets to fend for herself. Something that never should have been done to any dog, let alone one with a heart murmer. She definately retains some maternal instincts and has taken to bathing #nalatheschnorkie nightly, yet loves to run around and play with #richiesjourney. She gets along well with all 5 dogs in our house. She loves to cuddle, go on rides and prefers to not be left home. She loves her foster dad but gravitates to her foster mom. Will go to bed with her and not leave the bed until foster mom gets up. She tries to sneak into the garage/car when fm has to leave for work but after a few minutes is happy to hang out with fd. On Monday she is undergoing a dental to have a bad tooth removed. This sweet girl is amazingly well behaved for bathing, nail trims (slept through it) brushings and rolls over for tummy rubs. I think her ideal life would have hours of tummy rubs and short walks. She has spent time in 2 foster homes and a doggy daycare and is doing amazing. Definately loved by all of us at ASTR. Lovely Lizzie Izzie needs a forever home and she is waiting so patiently for it. Would that be you or somebody you know. www.aberdeenstr.com for more details and her adoption application.
I want to be part of this challenge because I need to admit: I forgot about myself the moment my baby was born, just this week (2 years and a month later...) I decided to be myself again. Understand this: your kid needs you to be yourself, to be happy, love yourself. #healthyladyhappybabychallenge:
My journey to motherhood was: a complete challenge, it was the most wonderful moment even when I had to deal with a lot of health issues.
I was most surprised by: the fact that I was pregnant, took so many different tests and they were all negative, until I found out for sure when I was 13 weeks pregnant 🤰🏽 The biggest challenge I experienced: I was in my last year of law school when it happened, so to balance everything was the hardest part.
The most helpful piece of advice I’ve been given: “Trust yourself, you’re the mom, no one else knows him as you do.”
What got me through the hardest times: God, my husband and my parents
What I want other mothers to know: it’s hard, it’s scary, but you can do it. You are never alone and you are strong enough to get your baby and yourself through this journey.
I wish mothers had more: information about how to take care about them at the same time you take care of your babies, never stop being a woman.
Habits I practice to be a healthy and happy mom: Eating healthy, trying to exercise and have fun, a lot of fun with your baby is what keeps you from breaking.
My favorite self-care tools: make up, hair brushes and time (you need to make time for yourself)
My most proud moment as a mom: every single day when I see he is trying until he makes it.
I now challenge you to participate (visit @hellomytribe to get the questions)

I grew up without a father, who was kept a mystery to me.
There was a sense of uprootedness, things being one day here and the next day not; a sense anything could happen.
Then, all of a sudden, my mother met my stepfather, and her life became happier, and my life changed, my heart changed.
Even though you're not my dad
I know that you'll be there
With the little things you do
You let me know you care
You're always there to help
Whatever the need may be
You've given of yourself
and so unselfishly... .
Now you're becoming the dad
that I have never known
I'm drawn to you more everyday
For the kindness you have shown
I just want to thank you
and let you know I care
A second dad as great as you
is something very rare ♥️
