Next up in the Future marathon will be Purple Reign, the first true mixtape since the trilogy, realeasing on January 17th, 2016 and executive-produced by Metro Boomin & Dj Esco. This was his first release since his best stretch, as the trilogy produced hits from each mixtape, and he followed that up with two of his top projects in DS2 and WATTBA. And while this one is not as good overall quality wise as the two that preceded it, it does have its fair share of hit songs. Inside the Mattress & Perkys Calling are examples of this, but almost half of the songs are great and could be on the best songs list. While Future may be spoiled with the producers he gets, he is still one of the best at utilizing their best and pairing it with his best. When Future’s on his game, it is almost always amazing. The production was handled by a number of producers outside of Metro(Esco isn’t credited on any of the songs but it says he is an executive producer so I’m assuming he did stuff in this). Frequent Future collaborators dominate this track list like Zaytoven(1), Southside(3), Nard & B(1), & Dj Spinz(2). This part was great as always with Future, and really helped Future out. Overall, this continues Future’s string of successful projects, and while ot branching out from his normal topics or subjects, it doesn’t really do anything negatively to the mixtape’s standards.
Best Songs- Perky’s Calling, Inside the Mattress, Drippin
Worst Songs- Never Forget, Hater Shit & Run Up
Rating- This is a solid addition to Future’s catalog, and puts more hit songs on his resume for the world to see how good he truly is. While it isn’t anything special for Future himself, that still means it is normally good, like this one is. Ima give this a 6.9/10. While it is a little too dependent on a few songs and is relatively top heavy, it still has a number of those “carry” type songs and isn’t straight garbage outside of it, which allows it to still warrant a good rating. Next review will be EVOL, I’m out.
Decided to create my first pair of custom sneakers. I call these AF1 "Jake Browning". If you're a fan of @uw_football then you definitely recognize the pose!!
I didn't realize how much time it takes to create custom shoes like this - especially the process of preparing the leather for paint. But I learned a lot along the way!
How do you think they turned out?
