What's it like to live in France as an Asian? Fellow Asian-Americans often ask me this question. While most days pass without incident, it's undeniable that I experience ruder and more frequent microaggressions in France than in the US. I detailed these encounters and my thoughts on this question in my latest blog post (link in bio). I'd love to hear from you if you've had similar or different experiences as a minority abroad.
Today was such a fulfilling day and I accomplished so many wonderful things-- I woke up at 8:00am and proceeded to grind for love potions in IkeRev until I beat ALL the obnoxious challenges to finish Jonah's second birthday route. Since I cleared both the Brotherly Love and the Red Army surprise party routes, I was awarded a matching outfit set for Alice and Jonah to wear together. Both are complimentary shades of pastel pinks and cream. I've never had the time or money to do special events, so this was such a wonderful gift to myself. I also cleared another chapter in Ray's route and it's been the most legit, heart breaking scene between him and Alice yet. I watched the new episodes of Bakumatsu and Banana Fish. I was FINALLY able to find the correct batteries needed for my Are You Alice? figure. Now I can hear Sakurai's lines as the 89th Alice! I also fulfilled my craving for a delicious Red Velvet Frappichino with almond milk + two espresso shots from @thecoffeebean; I haven't had the flavor since last December. @mothersmarkets had liquid vitamins on sale, so I stocked up! I had a surprise call from my Uncle whom I haven't spoken to or seen in over a decade. I watched another premiere episode of Beryl & Sapphire! I decided that I'll be cosplaying Beryl and purchased his cosplay on a whim. I visited the library and bought some discounted books. I laughed hysterically at the IkeRev drama cd tracks I found on YouTube. I even enjoyed the crisp night air and observed so many constellations from the backyard. The air was so cold, the stars were all the more visible to the naked eye; It made me nostalgic for the desert and the last time I went camping in Sedona.
Right now, my fluffy Princess is sleeping next to me while Hiro Shimono's soothing voice serenades my ears. I have many things to be thankful for and I feel truly blessed today by the Universe. Today's cat sunglasses + earrings combo are paired with my raven wings shirt for a Ray Blackwell inspired #coord.
There was such a warm sun and nice breeze on my lunch. I'm so happy I made the decision to go outside today. It's been the first time I've been able to enjoy the weather in weeks. Work passed by with a good pace and a calm atmosphere, which was a wonderful.
Despite all my efforts to fluff up my hair, it's a more wind tossled look, but that's okay. I'm glad all the layers are fluffy today. It really gives me confidence in myself again.
Also, the Beryl and Sapphire series resumed and I'm so happy! I started playing catch up on my break and will marathon the rest after work. It's such a cute and fun series; sometimes extremely emotional.
I'm so ready for the Jonah birthday event to start on Thursday night in my IkeRev game! There's going to be two exclusive routes and four endings available. So many choices, so little time!
Speaking of IkeRev, I had NO IDEA there's already TWO stage plays for the game??? On top of that, my beloved Koji Minami was recast as Fenrir in the second butai production??? I had no idea, as he's never once posted footage on his personal account! He is literally the spitting image of Fenrir; a perfect 3D version and I shed tears of excitement. I feel so blessed to be alive in this time. All of the butai actors look so good. I saw some clips on YouTube and want more!
