I love how when I come out of meditation there is a wonderful quote that reflects my life.. As a mum and business owner there are many thoughts I must have every day. This can get draining and lead to overwhelm, especially if some of the thoughts dont feel good.
But not all of the thoughts we think are our own.
Many thoughts come from outside of ourselves. The media, well-meaning friends, social channels and the like. And while these thoughts (ideas / suggestions) may be ok for them, they may not be ideal for what WE want out of life.
You will know whether a thought is serving, or not serving you, by the way you feel.
Meditating clears ALL thought so that you are able to tune out the physical reality, allowing your innate wisdom to influence your thinking and decisions.
As society gets busier and faster, removing your awareness from it from time to time is paramount.
There are many ways you can clear all thought besides the traditional methods. Running, gardening, hiking, surfing, even a hot soak in the bath where you think about nothing other than the warmth on your skin and softness of your body.
For me its immersing myself in play with my kids, and whenever a work thought creeps in I dismiss it to become fully present again.
AND I NEVER watch the news!! Do you have a go to that quietness and calms the mind?
Happy Friday xoxo

#tbt to another gorgeous summer afternoon at our Cape cottage - definitely looking forward to more of this kind of weather!! Check out our Airbnb page to book your vacation and experience a week in Chatham for yourself this spring / summer!
The weather is heavy and its raining and i open the window and let rain 🌧️dance in my living room. For a time I am lost in silence, lost in the wilderness of you. I know the rain is my favorite ; its breath is in the air, and I fall into the misty folds of morning, a soft landing in your arms.

• The heaven declares the glory of God the skies proclaim the work of his hands ~ Psalm 19:1 • ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nature has always been my happy and calm place. I feel God closest to me when I am surrounded by His master piece. The water 🌊 and the mountains 🏔 have always been my sanctuary (I take after my dad in that way). ⠀⠀
No matter where I am in this roller coster of life, whether it is the highs or the lowest of lows, I feel safe, secure and reassured in Gods love and plan for my life. ⠀⠀
Where is your happy/calm place? .
This one feels like going home to me; like walking a favorite footpath that I’ve visited day after day, in rain or sun, in every kind of emotional state, and every time returning refreshed and comforted. Fresh air deep in my lungs and spirit.
