We never see it coming. We are its prey. High interest credit cards with minimum payments to keep us in debt and swiping. Escape the creditor, break the cycle with help, support, & switching to more cash payments. (Just to be clear, I said #TheCreditor, not #ThePredator... Oh, I see. It’s probably confusing because of the similarities of this parody to the trailer for the upcoming movie #ThePredator2018. Why write this clarification in the description? An excuse to use the hashtags, of course!) #MoneyWoke#AMA#sharewithothers
What if I gave you a penny on your first birthday? What if I promise to double the amount every year? Consider the following. Real wealth sneaks up on you over time through compounding interest. #compoundinterest#investing#MoneyWoke
It is not always about being first. Success is a marathon with others getting there before you, & many never leaving the starting line. (Now I’m just mixing metaphors.) whether it’s dealing with debt, figuring out ways to save, learning how to earn more or invest responsibly, or just dealing with money & life in general, keep up the hard work. #MoneyWoke#WealthHealth
Quote cont’d: “Retirement as a goal or final redemption is flawed for at least three solid reasons:
a. It is predicated on the assumption that you dislike what you are doing during the most physically capable years of your life. This is a non starter-nothing can justify that sacrifice.
b. Most people will never be able to retire and maintain even a hotdogs-for-dinner standard of living. Even one million is chump change in a world where traditional retirement could span 30 years and inflation lowers your purchasing power 2-4% per year. The math doesn't work. The golden years become the lower-middle-class revisited. That's a bittersweet ending.
c.If the math does work, it means that you are one ambitious, hardworking machine. If that's the case, guess what? One week into retirement, you'll be so damn bored you'll want to stick bicycle spokes in your eyes. You'll probably opt to look for a new job or start another company. Kinda defeats the purpose of waiting, doesn't it?” .

———————————————————————— Been off the interwebs for a minute for family time, but I can’t miss an opportunity to post with the world famous #InstaDog@SkipperTheGolden! ———————————————————————— Skipper reminded me that it’s more important to make real lasting connections, rather than obsessing about follower counts or bank accounts. He also reminded me the importance of sharing (treats, toys, & bones.) ————————————————————————
Swipe the pics to get Skipper’s 22 things we can learn from dogs. ———————————————————————— Missing the weird silly stuff about money stuff @GregChatsCash? Join me on #IGTV, or the #podcast link in my bio, or message me anytime. More to come in August here, and on most media that is social.

. Early 2016, I started using SnapChat, because I saw the unique opportunity to explore new ways to share, learn, & educate. For this #ThrowbackThursday, I’m sharing a pic that I drew, before I started focusing on #MoneyEducation on the Internet. - Now I’ve come a long way, changed my plans, my usernames, my focus, & my strategies. What hasn’t changed is my excitement to help others. If you EVER think about helping others, #StartingABusiness, being a #freelancer, or creating something from scratch, here’s the secrets that many don’t mention. - Many of us figure it out as we go, & don’t always have a clear path forward. Most of us change plans & directions MANY times during our journeys. Persistence & patience can often be more powerful than talent. We learn a lot from our NUMEROUS setbacks & mistakes. (I’m still working on successful online reselling...) Consistency is easier said than done. We ALL feel #ImpostorSyndrome from time to time, even if some folks don’t admit it. (Why do people keep calling me an expert?🤔) - We all could not do this without support from others. - None of us are as smart as all of us. There is no straight line to #success. #NothingToItButToDoIt - Everyone makes #MoneyMistakes! - What questions do you have? Leave a comment, or hit me up on the DM. I want to help you build towards your goals & dreams, while making sound 💰choices. - Thank you for you! -

#TheIncredibleHulk is often misquoted. He’s not saying #HulkSmash. He’s just a #MoneyWoke superhero that understands that dealing with outstanding credit card debt can make us feel powerless. When he deals with financial emergencies & super villains, HULK USE CASH! That way, he can rest easier after those hard fought money battles. Don’t have a #CashStash of your own? Start building a #CashStronghold for emergencies & unique opportunities. Tell trusted others about your savings goals, because it’s harder to do this all alone. Even a strong loner like #TheHulk needs support from #TheAvengers from time to time. Want someone to talk to about what you can do to #SaveMore? Hit me up anytime! 💪😃👍 here at #GregChatsCash or listen to the #GregChatsCashPodcast! 🎧
Here’s a fun video with some quick tips and tricks for considering how to make more money. If the strategies are familiar, and not what you’re looking for, hit me up here @GregChatsCash. For this Flashback Friday, I’m sharing a story from a takeover, I did under my old username. (I rebranded in December 2017.) if you run into anyone asking, “Hey, what happened to that guy @cashchatsnap?” You can let them know I’m here! (No one is asking). #awareness#MoneyWoke#CashStronghold#GregChatsCash (I don’t know if I even need to leave hashtags here...) 😜👍❤️
Because I like making #VerticalVideo & have for years now. I’ve been told by many to switch to landscape. I really like making content for mobile devices. Perhaps someday I’ll make more landscape style videos, but for now, you don’t need to twist your wrist when you hang out @gregchatscash. (Unless you’re gaming with me on #Fortnite. I’m reaalllly bad, but getting harder to hit.) #JumpAround#fortnitememe 😜 #IGTV#IGTVcommunity

Want your Cash to earn more than a Savings Account? I give you, the CD Ladder. Building up a Cash Stronghold for emergencies & opportunities is essential to building #WealthHealth. Splitting your #CashStronghold between some cash at home, some in checking and savings, and building a CD Ladder can set your cash up to be available, earning more interest, and not exposed to loss of principal. (The original amount of money you put in.) Have more questions after the video? Hit me up on the DM or leave them in the comments, because more #MoneyWoke conversations help us all!
For my first IG TV video, a quick and effective way to stack cash quick. Have you ever tried the five dollar bill challenge? Figuring out ways to save your money, to build a #CashStronghold for emergencies and opportunities is a key to building wealth health. Questions? Ask me anything @GregChatsCash! Let’s get #MoneyWoke!
. Not a businessman👨💼; a BUSINESS, man! 📈📊🗓 - Not even sure what I meant by that, but I’m excited I can finally hand something to people who ask me for a card. - Starting your own projects or #SideHustles? KEEP COSTS LOW!! You probably don’t need 500 business cards right away, & you’ll probably want to redesign and add different info about a month after ya get them. Defer startup expenses, & beware offers to get more supplies at a discount. (Anyone want 300 business cards that say CashChatSnap?) #vintageforsale 😜 -

. Can ya break a one? 💵✂️ - When talking 💰stuff at #UkiahHighSchool, someone ripped up a #OneDollarBill. I didn’t see it happen. Their money, their choice. - It made me think about some of the difficulties in our money discussions. We are agreeing that these little pieces of paper have some sort of value. Perhaps in that moment of tearing up the bill, that student was valuing the relationships & human interactions above money. Maybe? -

. I still personally struggle with this #TenSecondTip. I think it’s REALLY sound advice, because our time, energy, & output is valuable. We often undervalue ourselves (not just monetarily.❤️) - For me, I spent so many years working in public & nonprofit work that I want to make sure I’m providing A LOT of value to anyone I’m working with, before seeing a dime. There are PLENTY of ways to spend your money on advice, workshops, classes, seminars, & financial tools, but I want to make sure anything I offer feels like a steal, & that my educational and supportive content is accessible to all of you. Question for the comments: Would y’all want a digital book or a #HowToMoney video series from me? - Nicole Walters @napturalnicole taught us a lot last year at #FinCon! I’m looking forward to seeing her this year & telling her I figured out a respectable way to get paid, that I feel good about! (And, yeah, @delshawnhayes totally told me this #MoneyTip first!😂) -
. I’ve been pushing myself to create and share more, even when I don’t know what to share... 😜 One way I have found an increase in productivity is through more public accountability. - I want to be more actively responsive and supportive with anyone reading this. I’m driven to support EVERYONE’S financial education and growth. - I want to provide answers thru various methods, with posts, podcasts, silly #SnapStories and #IGhighlights, individual chats, workshops, meet ups, and livestreams. - Please let me know in the comments, what content has been some of your favorite and/or most helpful? - #MoneyWoke#StandinginLine#CreativeDocumenting#GetCreating#TimeHack#CashStronghold#GregGatesJr#GregChatsCash

———————————————————————— #VOTE#VOTING#VOTED ———————————————————————— Being #MoneyWoke includes being aware of how our leaders support, implement, & carry out financial policy that effects us all. ———————————————————————— There’s a reason there is no legal requirement for all financial professionals to always Legally act in our best interests. It’s partially because as citizens, we’ve never demanded it from our government and leaders. My 2nd cousin, who I have never met, saw the Voyage Dallas interview I did recently and sent me an email...💻
Turns out he wrote a book about financial literacy and has a weekly financial blog.📕
His father started with nothing and worked towards becoming a partner of Price-Waterhouse!💰
He mailed a copy of his book and it completely destroys every other resource I have consumed to date.🧠📚
I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you!🗣

This Earth Day, I climbed some trees. What way did you connect with the planet today? While up in the trees, I got to thinking about the unique opportunity I had last week to spend time with teens and adults at the #MariposaInstitute. Students in various groups from #UkiahHighSchool were taking part in a retreat focusing on topics including personal reflection, intentional thinking, journaling, and developing affirmations. • Thank you @ukiahinteract and everyone who organized this amazing retreat. •
• One concept that really stuck with me was seeking more awareness of my Inner Critic. The voice that tells us negative beliefs about ourselves, that we sometimes manifest into reality, by maintaining that belief. •
• What struck me the most about the discussions around our Inner Critics, is that the ideas we tell ourselves are often the EXACT OPPOSITE of reality. •
• Again, bringing me back to one of my newer favorite quotes.
• “Don’t believe everything you think.” - @cywakeman •
• This kind of thinking can happen pretty regularly in our personal financial lives. I’m here to tell you, you are not alone and your inner critic is more harsh than you deserve. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
SIZE MATTERS 😳
The size, or number, of your credit score really makes a difference. 💯
I spent months building up my credit in preparation for our home loan. 📈
By increasing my credit limit, paying down my balances, & disputing any false marks on my credit report, we were able to lock in a very low rate. 👌🏼
This will end up saving us THOUSANDS of dollars in the long run. 💸
So don't wait until after you need a good credit score to worry about it. Start building your credit now! 🌈

Celebrating the purchase of my first full stock this week!! 🍾
I've been investing in mutual funds and EFTs for a while now. However, I have been cautious & tactful when it comes to investing in individual stocks. 💵
Purchasing individual stocks to build a portfolio requires more capital & the diversification is a manual process. So, like the fiscally responsible investor I am, I did my research first. And I mean A LOT of research. 📚
You know what I learned? You've just got to do it. You have to dive in head first, because the market is volatile. & it takes time and practice to become a good investor. You know the best way to gain experience? First hand. 💯
So if you've been thinking to invest for a while, but just haven't taken that first step, let this message inspire you. 🌈There are TONS of apps that make investing affordable, accessible, and incredibly easy. A couple of my favorites include Stash & Robinhood. 👌🏼
🚨 FREE STUFF ALERT!!! 🚨
For $5 in Stash Cash, check out:
Robinhood will also give you a FREE STOCK:

Automation is an incredibly useful tool that can help you reach your financial goals with ease...orrrr help you pour an amazing glass of wine 🍷
Imagine doubling, even tripling your savings, without so much as a second thought. 💰😳
You can also automate fund transfers to your investment account. I do $20 a week, but feel free to start with whatever is comfortable for you. Resources such as Stash and Robinhood allow you to set this up effortlessly - ask me how to get ✨AWESOME FREE STUFF from each! 🙌🏼
For the skeptics, maybe you feel like you can't afford to automate your savings. You can't afford to invest. Well, you're wrong ❌ You can afford it, you're just choosing not to. Because it's too much work. Too much work to reduce your spending, too much work to maintain. That's why you AUTOMATE. Because it's easy. Because before you know it, it's done. No deliberation, no bullshit. 💯
& you know why you should do it? Because you are worth it. 💖 Your future is worth it. If you can afford that latte, those new shoes, or a night out, you can afford to invest in securing your financial future. 💵 There are many uncertainties in life, but your finances don't have to be one of them.
So set up an auto transfer with your bank account. I transfer $75 to my savings account every time my direct deposit hits biweekly. Again, go with an amount that's comfortable for you. Even if it seems low, start somewhere and try to work your way up over time. 📈
So let's do this! I'm on my way to becoming an automatic millionaire!! 💰Are you?! & let me know if you have any questions! Always happy to help. 😊
