Want to avoid injury and make sure you’re balanced? Include unilateral (single leg, single arm) exercises in your routine! These stepper heel tap downs will reveal if one side may be stronger than the other and helps build single leg stability. Some key points to remember: 🔑 Your knee should track over your second toe
🔑 Sit your hips back as you lower down
🔑Try to avoid shifting your hips
🔑All the power should come from your glutes, keep them squeezed throughout
If you have a hard time keeping your knee from caving inward, this could be a sign that you should work on those glutes (specifically your glute med). Add this move into your next leg day!
This is my friend Laura’s testimony!! Laura says: I WAS STUCK.... NOW I'M NOT 😍
Many of you know because I have shared my #healthjourney over the past 5 years, that I lost and kept off 40+ lbs, improved my digestive issues, cholesterol levels, energy, sugar cravings, sleep, got rid of leg pain, and so much more.
Many of you ALSO know that 2-3 years ago, I began struggling with belly weight gain that would not budge due to some hormone imbalances that cause weight gain and/or make it difficult to lose weight.
This may offend some people.... and that's OK. This is what I discovered. I found that many people with similar struggles use it as an excuse to do nothing and just accept it as a part of getting "older." UM... sorry...I cannot just accept it. #perseverance 👊🏻 I refuse to use it as an excuse to continue to live with the extra lbs. I’ve been to 6 different practitioners and tried several different workout programs in the past two years. Without many answers or results. All while keeping my gut healthy and immunity strong with the best supplements out there. #comprehensiveapproach to #health and #wellness
In April, I started a fabulous HIIT training workout program #F45 and although results were slower than I was used to, it was working. Around that same time, our company also launched two new #gamechanger weight mgmt products that have changed things for me along with making a few small tweaks to my regimen. #WinningCombo
I lost 11 lbs over the next couple of months. Like I said, it was slow but it was WORKING. Now I have lost 2 more.
So that's a total of 13 lbs since April....even with stubborn hormone imbalances and thyroid issues. 👊🏻 I'm also on week one of a new #8weekchallenge at my gym. I go 4-5 times a week for 45 mins each. I'm super excited to see my next 8 week results. Just in time for our annual trip to #Maui 🌴☀️🌈🌊👙 This is my invitation to you to GET UNSTUCK. OR not. It's your choice! But I want to help you! ❤️😘 #changinglives#healthygut#healthylife#healthyandhappy#healthandwellness
1- When a woman is speaking her truth publicly (or privately, for that matter), let her voice & message be heard. Do not try to educate or school her on something she shared. If you disagree with something she said, go make your own video or write a post on your views separately. Men have had the mic for ages. STEP AWAY FROM THE MIC WHEN IT'S IN A WOMAN'S HANDS. STEP. AWAY.
2- If you wish to continue a dialogue about mansplaining with the woman you mansplained, first ASK her if she would like to continue it as well. In other words, DO NOT matter-of-factly state that you are going to continue talking "when you meet" if in fact, you have no mutual plans to meet. Do not make assumptions. ASK HER WHAT SHE WANTS. ASK HER IF SHE CONSENTS TO MEETING & TALKING FURTHER.
3- In a separate, unrelated (& quite rare, these days) incident... If you make an inappropriate sexual comment to a woman & she fiercely shuts that shit down before you can process what just happened to you, do not attempt to make yourself feel better by then calling her "sensitive." When you encounter a woman who is empowered in her sexuality, that is NOT AN OPEN INVITATION for you to try to dominate or partake in any ownership of her sexuality WHATSOEVER.
Just practice 1-3 & you will be fine for now.
~Thanks, fellas. Let's work together to burn this shit down.

The pools were not swimmable today. Just a little rough! 😵
