He was not an insta poet and he wasn't the first one to say such words, there are multiple ways this has been circulated over the years and generations, all the way back to the oldest book .
But , #martinlutherkingjr didn't just say these and other similar words, he acted on them in the way he saw fit
He drove a revolution with the help of many people hungry for a change.
So when I hear words from people who lead by example, you know I listen
Listen carefully and respectfully.
In this current climate , we need to do more of that.
Know who we are listening to
See what they have done?
Are their actions in line with what they preach?
Do they lead with truth and dignity
Are they in it for the right reasons?
There is going to be a crazy dance race to elect a leader to oppose our current president.
It is up to us to
Research on our own
And make a sound decision based on our values and the good of our country/children .
#MLK paved the way in such a smart way, the way he spoke, carried himself and carried the movement
He worked the media to his favor
He showecased the reality no one wanted to see and he made us listen.
Let's start listening with our eyes open ;)
Rest in peace Mr.King
Ask the animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds, and they will tell you. Or speak with the earth, and it will teach you. Even the fish will relate the story to you. What creature doesn't know that the
Lord's hands made it? The life of every living creature and the spirit in every human body are in his hands.
I vividly remember this outfit. It reminds me of the first time I experienced hate. At age five, a friend in San Bernardino, CA asked me why I would wear a red/blue shirt. He told me the bloods would kill me because of the blue and the crips because of the red. I didn’t understand why someone would hate me because of a color.
I now understand hate comes from ignorance. And, the only way ignorance can change is by knowledge. #MLK’s dream can never be accomplished without it and that’s where #we come in. #Listen#Learn#Love#martinlutherkingjr#peace#racism#gangs#knowledge#wisdom#ignorance#change
Monday mood! Ever feel like you need to talk to someone who doesn’t have an opinion or who isn’t there to judge. Someone who’s there to just listen 👂 I’ve teamed up with @talktimehq a charity there to support you on day to day advice. I’m wearing their cute bracelet which you can purchase on their website.
