Some photos from the series submitted. Recieved notice that I have been awarded Honorable Mention for the 2018 International Photography Awards for my Collective Dream Series in the Fine Art Category. I won Honorable Mention in 2015 in the category of Fine Art Nudes with For Consumption Only Series - the nude series shot in a slaughterhouse in Oaxaca. It feels wonderful to recieve this award again on a series that I have dedicated so much of my life to - photographing in almost 20 countries. The Lucie Awards Gala will be in NYC at @carnegiehall
Description of the series: In a current world obsessed with identity, Gibson will remind us of the importance of unity through community and the essential necessity of connecting to our souls. In today’s world war and bigotry press on the values of our time. This series invites people to come together to create an inclusive world by reminding us that we are all having a collective experience on a soul level. The images remove identity with the use of masks so that a conversation about the dream of souls can be had while giving the viewer the opportunity to consume more openly. For the last seven years Gibson has photographed THE COLLECTIVE DREAM in Peru, India, Costa Rica, Iceland, Cuba, France, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Cambodia, Mexico and The United States. Enter the dreamscape of Gibson’s world that invites us to imagine life in our dreams and also life beyond this realm. This life, the afterlife, the veil is this. We are one. We are all having an experience, that is simply part of a larger collective consciousness, a collective dream.
