Huawei working on smartphone with a display hole for the camera instead of a notch. Follow @moboworld_oneplus for latest OnePlus mobile updates.
According to a Korean media outlet, Huawei is working on a strange smartphone design that could potentially mean the end of a notch era. But don't get too excited, because what follows might be even worse.
The design features a display cutout for the camera, only this time it's smaller and surrounded by screen on all sides. Instead of placing the front-facing snapper on the notch, the engineers want to put it away from the top bezel so they can squeeze a bit more display on the front and get rid of the notch.
This concept might introduce an entirely new problem. For example, how will the apps behave and how will the extra screen space be utilized? And still, the design pictured from ETNews shows a very slim upper bezel housing the earpiece, ambient sensor and the proximity sensor.
To be honest, despite being a bit quirky, vivo and Oppo's design solution with their periscope-like camera on the NEX S and slide-out top on the Find X seem way more elegant.
Also, we can't get over the notion that Huawei might be doing this for marketing purposes only - to brag about screen-to-body ratio. Then again, we'd be glad to be proven wrong and there to be an actual practical use case to this.
Further the report mentions a 6.39-inch LCD and a possible launch in Q4 this year. This is in line with Huawei's leaked roadmap last year.

Honestly this is the exact photo off my phone! #huaweip20pro#huawei#huaweisouthafrica#katyperry#katyperrywitnesstour I witnessed so much in the few hours we were there. 1: what a phenomenal performer @katyperry is. Wow blown away beyond words 2: set design is what dreams are made of 3: I sat next to a youngster doing his first year Law in Pretoria and he was such a well mannered young guy and was really a pleasure to share a concert next to him 4: I then played #ellensheadsup@theellenshow with him and two lovely young girls, we all laughed really hard and didn't know a thing on the game hahaha! So on #nelsonmandela 's 100th birthday celebration, 4 very mixed races saw passed it all! I was privileged to have met the younger generation of children being brought up in the #newsouthafrica! I hope they stay this way, I hope to raise a daughter like this and I hope for us, geriatrics, that we change our ways for the sake of the children in our country because if we carry on the way we are, there won't be a nation for them #embrassthenew#changeourways#nofilter#noediting#photooftheweek#embodiesmyexperience
Great having you as part of our #fitfam - only took two years of nagging to convince you to become a model 😘
The Modeling Industry.
From the age of 13 to now, I have been scouted by approximately 11 different modeling agencies. Some of which aren't around anymore and others are still prestigious, world-renowned agencies.
I'm glad I didn't start at such a young age because along with all the insecurities most go through during their teenage years, I don't think I would have coped with that extra pressure to fit a models measurement requirements.
Not only that; you're given a sheet to tick off all the photos / adverts you're comfortable doing.
e.g. Bare shoots, alcohol and smoking adverts. Which in my opinion, is absolutely ludacris to have anyone under the age of 18 participate in or at least "advertise" that it's okay.
At the age of 20 I decided to give the modeling career a shot, to boost my confidence. But by this time, I was "too muscular" for the fashion industry and was told to lose all of it and fit into their mold.
But, why would you want to be like everyone else in the industry?
I love training, eating, being strong and healthy!
Throughout my life, I've always been sports and fitness driven so I joined a Sports agency and I'm able to follow through with my passion. It's been an adventure, meeting new people, learning new skills and shooting at awesome locations. 🙌
I believe some agencies have made improvements and are "getting with the times" Good on them 👏
Skin and bone is not the end goal. Brands should not be portraying that as "healthy", especially to young girls.
Here's to strong women.
May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.❤️
