I don’t think people that aren’t close to me know the effort I put into school. I work 10hrs 4 days a week at night so I can go to school during the day, I have two kids , I have a husband and I can’t let any of those responsibilities fail in order to pursue my goals. I’m literally doing it all and stay positive keep a smile on ,laugh with family do my job at work, turn in my assignments on time ,plus extra credit and study ... I get about two hrs of sleep a day which is not healthy but worth it ... yes I’m patting myself on the back cuz I deserve it ... imma keep it coming keep working hard and keep praying all my labor bares good fruit 🍉 #workharder#noexcuses#supermom#goalgetter#nosleepcrew#deanslist#honorsociety#futureeducator
When I was in junior high there were two teachers I disliked (to put it nicely) :) I couldn't stand to go to their class every day. One of the teachers would lecture all class period and was so boring, half the class would fall asleep. The other teacher stunk of BO and would make indecent remarks to the girls. Here's what I did in both scenarios:
For the boring teacher, I realized I was just going to have to deal with it so I found positive traits about him that helped me get through his class. He was actually a nice man who knew everything about history and had a deep respect for the military which I could relate to having a Dad in the military. For the other teacher, I became increasingly uncomfortable with his odor and especially his remarks to girls (including me) in the class. In that scenario I told my parents who in turn told the school counselor and I was switched to another class. If you dislike your teacher, the first thing you need to do is talk to someone about your options. Preferably talk to a parent or school counselor. If you're rolling your eyes at this, talk to a good friend or someone who has dealt with the same teacher to see what they did. The point is, don't do anything drastic until you figure out your plan of action. Of course, if you feel comfortable enough to talk to the teacher you dislike, that's the best option. Tell them what's bothering you and maybe they can make the situation better. ALWAYS talk to someone if a teacher is doing anything inappropriate!! 👍
Thanks to those of you who came out to our final general meeting of the semester!
Robert Gomez and Eduardo Mora, the original founders of UPD at CSULB, dropped by to keep in touch. Current president Kiara Rafael and Director of Membership Michelle de la Cruz were more than happy to have them! We are excited for the succeeding semester as we plan future events, filled with learning and camaraderie.
Good luck on your finals and... Go Beach! #csulb#hca#healthcareadministration#mha#honorsociety#upd#upsilonphidelta#mastersdegree

Congratulations to my cousin (more like sister) on graduating with her bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration last night. I am so proud of you; not only were you able to juggle both school and work, but you did it while earning Cum Laude honors and as part of the Golden Key honor society. I'm sure you will continue with the same excellence in your Masters. I love you! 😘💕 #fiugrad

We asked an honors teacher to tell her story:
The honors program has given me many insights. I started to work in a group, which I always found very difficult in my regular program! By working interdisciplinarily with other motivated students, I discovered that the strength of a team is much stronger than that of an individual. This was one of the most important insights during my honors program. At this moment I am an honors teacher and in this way I hope to enthuse and motivate many students in the same way to get the most out of yourself and dare to go outside your comfort zone, to, in the end, come back to important core values of life. Because that really is what honors with a student can do. I'd love to share this insight with others, and I coach students with full enthusiasm to collect a number of important moments for them which can lead to certain insights for a student to grow. Because I am convinced that you only learn something in situations that are 'different' than usual, and that is what I want to encourage with the honors program! Because personal growth is the best thing there is!
For MYSELF as a reminder of my capabilities, my sacrifice (lost sleep, relationships, etc. to get here) and to keep going. To keep striving to be the best me I can be. ONE SEMESTER LEFT.
🙌🏽Praise Report 🙌🏽...So after carefully reviewing my grades I discovered and brought to the attention of my instructor that I was missing grade from both of the classes he teaches. The system didn’t upload my grade even though is showed that the assignments had been completed. So my instructor went back and recalculated my grades and guess who made A’s in BOTH of the classes🙋🏽♀️!!! This chic...I tell you...NOTHING or NOBODY can curse what GOD has blessed🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. I posted both sets of grades...so I only made 2 B’s for the entire semester and 1 B and 3 A’s for The grading period. Not bragging on self but bragging on MY GOD!!! Baby...GOD is within her and she shall not fail!!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Graduation set for May 3, 2019!!!! #ButGod#In3Days#HighStandards#SingleMama#HonorSociety

These are the days as a Dad that you look back on and remember how difficult the movie business is. Missing many of these moments, it’s hard to balance family and this very intense career I have chosen. Son, so proud of who you are becoming and the seeing how bright your future is. Lydia thank you for always being there for our kids. You have been the anchor that holds our ship steady amongst the chaotic storms. Love you all and miss you. 💋💋💋💋 #soproud#honorsociety#killingit#family
