What’s your best out-of-your-comfort-zone vacation experience? For us it was definitely making our own leis on Molokai! I have two black thumbs and am the master of Pinterest fails (🤣) but the owner at this beautiful plumeria orchard was so kind and helpful—and PATIENT! We learned all about how to pick just the right plumeria blossoms, how many we needed for each lei, and then how to thread them just right! And the scent... it was truly heavenly!

I love that. I have loved learning about Hawaii the last several years in preparation for our travels there. It’s so much more than pineapples and hula dancers, but you’d never know unless you dive deeper than the surface. Our trip to Molokai was bot perfect, and yet it was perfect because we let Hawaii happen.
I was didappointed than a lot of the hikes I wanted to take on Molokai were on private property, and on Molokai visitors should be more than usual diligent in respecting the “Kapu” and “No Trespassing” signs. But the Solatorio family, the last natives of the Halawa Valley, is kind enough to give visitors a cultural experience and a guided hike to the incredible waterfall on their property. You can read all about the experience and the hike on the blog today!
And in other news, check out my Love’s calves! 😍

When you buy a bag, we give a bag!💝
Each Sustainability Tote you buy, gives a bag to another person during our educational sustainability games and programs that we do with the local community, schools and local non-profit environmental groups.
Printed with local printer @blankcanvascustom , and design hand drawn by Via Gelato owner, Melissa Bow, this canvas tote is big enough to carry all your groceries and your reusables. Feel awesome with your choices to “take the no-single use plastic challenge” and to help another person do the same, as well!
