So, I think tomorrow is gonna be a “put on ur big girl panties” kind of day. I have no real clue what exactly that means but I suppose Ill start with packing my food for the day when I get up. Just because shit is really hard right now, doesnt mean I cant eat right. I just have to plan it better. And my gym membership runs out May 31, so since I cant afford a new one Ill have to come up with some stuff at home. And then Ill keep looking for that second job, since I dont know how long it takes to hear back from the ideal one lol. Representing while out and about on this first day of summer break. 🙏🏻💪🏼 I find summer break to always be challenging to get some time for myself in to fill my cup. When I feel my best, I can serve others better. So, it is not selfish to take care of me first. My youngest of four is 10 now, so it is easier for me to fit in my quiet time with Jesus (workIN) and getting in some daily movement (workOUT). But, when my kids were younger, I did not make the time for me. I was merely surviving vs. thriving. If everyone was alive at the end of the day, it was a success. But, I always knew deep down that I was designed for more. I was made to thrive! But how? Intentionality was key! I had to intentionally plan in pockets of time during the day for me. Ladies, I remember when the only time for me was while I was sleeping, showering or using the bathroom. And believe me, there were plenty of times a kid was involved in those 3 spaces, too! Can anyone relate? 🙋🏼♀️ The truth is our kids deserve a mom who is healthy and whole. When they see me living this out, it teaches them to steward their lives in a way that creates life instead of robbing their life. It matters! I wish I had realized the importance of this years ago, so that is why I am super passionate about helping other moms realize the value of taking care of YOU. Momma, are you ready to put some action toward investing in YOU, so that at the end of summer 2018, you can say, “I thrived this summer!”? It is possible with some simple, daily disciplines and a community of other mommas linking arms beside you as we walk this out. If this is speaking to your heart, I’d love to connect with you. 5:00-6:00 AM... that’s when I did my total body workout today (and in my own living room, no less).
I KNEW that a workout wasn’t going to happen after work today. We had an evening awards convocation at school that I needed to be at... and I commute a half hour to work. So last night, I made a plan, set an alarm ⏰ (or two or three...), and got to bed early. Fail to plan and plan to fail!

Mealprep this week was 🔥🔥🔥 On the menu: grilled chicken + rice + broccoli, ground turkey + sweet potatoes + green beans. Non pre-portioned meals included grilled chicken salad and egg white scramble with Ezekiel bread for breakfast. #failtoplanplantofail

Fail to Plan - Plan to Fail! I had 1 hour...just one hour to get my workout done, shower AND eat!! I was a little worried at first and started to grumble that I had waited so long to start the process...BUT... I knew it was all in my head. I had to change my mindset, hit that darn reset button! So I did! My workout took me 45 minutes, that left me 15 minutes. I had to be fast! Like super speed fast! I quickly showered, tossed on some make up and straightened my hair. I had 3 minutes left. I ran downstairs, and phew!! I had meal prepped the other day so when my kiddos got home from school I was already eating and welcoming them, asking about their days. Life gets busy - Plan for it! I knew I was safe on time because I had made myself a priority earlier this week. Fail to Plan - Plan to Fail! Don't get caught in that trap!
This amazing little boy will be having his heart surgery next Friday and you wouldn’t believe how much we’ve been looking forward to this day - improved overall health, sounds like a music to my ears ✨💛✨ - there were only two things that we needed to keep in mind thought - that is he would be healthy enough to go through anesthesia and the condition of his ASD would be suitable for an operation. Styrkár has gotten used to not being well all the time and has charmed us with his inner strength when he has tackled each task coming his way. Throwing up a lot on a daily basis, having difficulty with sleeping and being in pain while feeding are just some of the things he’ll hopefully be saying goodbye to after the operation and also we hope he’ll be able to say goodbye to the gastric feeding tube in a few weeks afterwards. Love this little boys resilience and he has taught me so much through the last few months ❤️ But it’s a difficult place to be in when you might not be healthy enough for an operation and at the same time it’s probably the only way to get healthier ❤️
So it was stressful seeing Styrkár getting really sick with high fever few days ago and at the same time worrying whether or not he would be able to have the operation later this week. That’s why I was so relieved hearing his heart specialist say earlier today that things were looking ok and if nothing changes he should be able to .
Afterwards I made a decision to take a short leave from posting food pics and in the spirit of mindful parenting just be fully present with my boys, like I always try to, but for the next few days I’m gonna try harder than usual and just focus on those three miracles boys we have 💙💙💙
But no worries I’ve stacked up on mama chia squeezes, RX bars, apples and tomatoes - cause #failtoplanplantofail you know 😉 .
So I’m all set and so ready to take on this next chapter in our family’s life ✨💛✨💛✨💛✨💛
It’s getting CRAZY around here! It’s the last week of school and my twins boys are graduating from High School on Thursday!! 👨🎓👨🎓😭 All sorts of emotions going on and all sorts of reasons that my eating has been less then stellar lately. Yes, coaches struggle too!! The hubby and I recognized that we needed to have better ready-to-eat proteins on hand so we took our lunch hour to grill/crockpot/prep for the busy week ahead! It seriously took us less then an hour and we even made and ate lunch too! The week is a breeze when you have things on hand to throw together for on-the-go meals!🙌🏼
We put the chicken on salads, rice bowls, burritos, tacos, sandwiches, etc. The pork roasts make amazing BBQ pork sandwiches and makes everyone happy!! 😊 .
Good luck everyone on the wrap up of another school year! Anyone else out there have seniors graduating?!

I’m kind of a nerd about lists and schedules, so this might be a little extra, but it helps SO much. Planning my meals makes sure I hit my macros every day. Planning my grocery trips makes sure I only buy what I need. Planning my workouts makes it easier to find the time to get to the gym and makes me more efficient when I’m there.
The moment your trainer shows you the next move and you crush it right out of the gate. 💁♀️ Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of moves that I don't do so well. But I power through, laugh at myself and finish the workout. 💪 #reallifethough
