#day5 of #fitasamotherlifestyle challenge workout space: family room floor, baby monitor on and pup stationed nearby. Let’s just say my legs are TIRED. Although the soreness in my legs make sitting down a challenge (which is awesome when sitting down with each patient during the day at work, ha!), it feels good to be sore again. It serves as a reminder that I AM exercising and caring for my body. Today’s blog question asks about what we do for self care. I like to read to wind down. I have also meditated in the past which I really enjoyed and would like to start up again. It’s all about making the time👍🏻. @brittanyalexaburns

@brittanyalexaburns talked about #selfcare and #sleep. I had to laugh because I was reading about how important sleep is at 2am while I couldn’t sleep 😆 .
Self care is soooo important, especially when you have a kid(s) at home. Today my self care was letting my mom take me to a kid-free lunch and to do some early birthday shopping. It was nice to sit and have a glass of wine and not worry about catering to someone else’s needs (but I missed my little baby the entire time). I’m also realizing my self care is working out- I get 30 minutes of alone time (even if it’s running with the babe in the stroller) to just zone out or think about all the things. It’s a great escape all while treating my body well. 💪🏼 #ihatetakingselfies
I earned my shower today! #fitasamotherlifestyle workout #day5 was mentally hard because after a long day with a moody 20 month old that did not nap , I was ready to veg out on the couch. I told myself 20 minutes , YOU’VE GOT THIS!!! I’m so glad I did it (4 rounds completed) It was cathartic! Self care at its finest. @brittanyalexaburns

Crawling into bed after a late #day5#fitasamotherlifestyle workout ... @brittanyalexaburns focused on self-care today and while it sometimes gets pushed to the back burner (in lieu of things like the dishes and wrangling toddlers) I know I'm getting better at it and exploring what that means in this stage of life. Right now: setting aside $$$ for a massage (90 min I CANNOT wait, literally daydream about it ❤), naps in the afternoon when I can (or what they usually end up as, lay in bed until C comes in and asks me to help tie her cape, get her a snack, fix Barbie's clothes, etc. 😂) and showering more often. Sounds silly, but it works! More fish oil and magnesium. Less coffee (although on the way to church early this morning when my hubby leaned over and said, "Caribou first" I may have leaned over and 💋💋💋)
No, that's not a tear running down my face. That is sweat because @brittanyalexaburns is trying to kill me! 😂😂😂 I wiped the sweat that was dripping off my nose before I took this selfie (you're welcome) #day5#fitasamotherlifestyle complete! 5 days of carving time into my day that's just for me. Even when it feels awkward, when I can think of 25 other things around the house I could be doing instead, even when I'm thinking of planning for the week ahead--i'm taking time for me. And it feels awesome!
Happiness is my being back at First West and having the joy of witnessing baptism. The very first Sunday I went to First West last fall there were 3 people who got baptised and I really felt the Lord working in the hearts of this church. This year my welcome back was another two baptisms. God is moving and I am so so so excited to see what all He has in store. #100happydays#day5
Self care for me is getting in a workout, swimming, maybe the occasional pedicure. I could do better in the self care department & I love what @brittanyalexaburns said today (take care of you so you can take care of others). I just did 6 rounds in 20 minutes & 30 laps in the pool to cool down. I'm feeling happy & strong. It's a beautiful Sunday.

So today at church I honestly didn’t understand a thing. But I did get the music. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I felt so at home in the few minutes we were singing. It was unreal! Love this gospel and the opportunity to go to church with this amazing family! #day5
After a rough time with strep throat, I’m finally back! Practicing air attacks in preparation for Bartok Concerto for Orchestra - seeing how far I can go dynamically in each direction, definitely need to account more for pitch and fast air speed here. #100daysofpractice#100daysofpiccolo#day5#flute#piccolo
