Devil's Head: Fire Lookout. The only fire lookout in the state of CO that is still functional. Featuring two strangers, in love. An oooold bearded mountianman/fireman lives up there year round with no modern amenities. After a short, but gruelling hike, you must climb a bright red staircase that seems to float on top of a vertical rock resembling a finger. Just as we reached the staircase, Winter itself rolled in beneath our feet. A thick fog raced under from the South. Visibility amounted to nothing and the only option was to climb up, above the cloud. This photo is on top of that cloud with 360° of breathtaking views.
Long Story Alert/Side Note:
I learned a lesson this day. I have traveled a lot in my life, and this was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The views, with the fog. It felt like walking on a cloud. This picture hardly captures the moment, but there were layers upon layers of bright golden clouds in the distance as the sun set. I took endless pictures all the while being speachless. At one point I turned to my husband and said, "is this even real?" He wanted me to put the camera down and just enjoy it. I did, but hardly. I wanted to capture this beauty (an impossible feat). After about 1,000 photos, two days later my camera broke and nothing was backed up. All photos were lost except this one. I reflected on how I spent so much time trying to capture a photo, and none of it mattered. Does it ever really matter? To get that photo? And for what?
Now, I hardly take photos, often I will travel or hike and not take a single picture. I still remeber all of those times vividly. I hold them in my heart, a secret keep with myself and those which I spent that moment. .
"All the birds have flown up and gone. A lonely cloud floats leisurely by. We never tire of looking at eachother, only the mountain and I."

Day 8 of #pncs25daysofxmas2018 was wet and cold and what better way to spend a rainy cold day then reading new #holiday books and having a #Campout. P n C spent the afternoon looking at their new books and making up the stories based on the picture. Neither told the same story for the same book 😂. After dinner @dr._dunn surprised them with a lot up diy tent where they sat and us scary stories which led to dancing to Xmas songs in the dark! I may post videos later 🤣 #theywillnotthinkitscuteat18#mifamilia
