Very very dicey situation a @british_airways 787-9 found itself in , upon attempting to land at Heathrow. A sudden gust of windshear put the aircraft into a nose down attitude just a few feet above the ground. Textbook example of the windshear escape maneuver. Max thrust with Max rate of climb+ no configuration change which is why the gear is left down. The immediate response of the pilot is displayed by the elevator being deflected to a maximum. Pilot did an amazing job of preventing a possible nose gear collapse and applying TOGA thrust of the Rolls Royce Trent’s get some altitude. (FYI Elevators are flight control surfaces, usually at the rear of an aircraft, which control the aircraft's pitch, and therefore the angle of attack and the lift of the wing).
