Let's try some new vintages! What a splendid idea! Diego Conterno a winemaker from northern Italy, Monforte d'Alba region. Dolcetto 2017 is a rather daily consumable wine. It's had no flaws, on the other hand I can't say it had something exceptional. Barbera 2017, now this is quite another thing. Barbera can in general be a rather good. Without being to complex wine. Even tho it is a great match with a lot of pasta based dishes. This wine is in that category. It's good juice. Decent body and good acidity. Unlike a lot of Barbera wines. This one doesn't give you that hot (alcoholic) feeling when it ends. So I'm a real fan! Time for some Barolo. 2014 is a very elegant "lighter" Barolo. Some tannins are still a bit gripping. If you have this at home. It won't take a decade to be drank. The 2013 vintage now that's quite another story. Classic Barolo. The nose is definitely guiding us in that direction. It was still tasting a bit rough. What makes perfect sense. Red fruit aroma, a note of coffee. Serious length. So much potential and a would buy Barolo. Now this would be interesting to try again in a few years. To end how about a sip from Claude Courtois his Racines 2014. Hell yes! 36 months aged in old oak barrels. Cabernet Sauvignon, Franc and Côt and a few more. 😊 the aging was a bit noticeable. I was told it had evolved and didn't show it earlier that day. A bunch a fresh red fruits, mixed with some minerals. And a lot of "fraicheur". It's still rather young. You can enjoy it now, but to who is patient. The reward is out there... The 2000 #marchese#barolo was fully oxidized. Waited too long. A bit of a bloodbath (2nd pic) Bad pun. The 2003 #mauroveglio Barolo on the other hand was nice. Much lighter and perhaps a bit past maturity but still drinking well. Reminds me of an burgundy.

Etter 2 timer på karaffel er den enda lukket, men med mer tilpasset syrestruktur. Klar fruktintensitet av lyse bær, noe jordtoner og fat. Riservaen gir fremdeles markante tanniner med noe bitter avslutning.
Ingen tvil om at jeg foretrekker aldret nebbiolo....
Etter 5 timer på karaffel har vinen åpnet seg til der jeg mer kan like den. Noe mørkere bærstruktur, snev av tjære, trøffel, fat, kryddertoner, tørr avslutning med enda noe kraftige tanniner
