Sorry, its been a while since i did any model building. I think I'm the slowest builder on Instagram lol😂
I've been busy with life stuff, like buying my childhood home, taking care of that home, working... uuugghhh
Adulthood is highly overrated, kids.🤭🧓
Anyway got home from work early, so got going on my #hasegawa 1/72 F-15DJ. I haven't glued the fuselage halves yet. I had to attach the lower wing halves first. Next up is the fuselage gluing. Fit is typical Hasegawa, fits awesome in some parts, just OK on others. I am following the directions from a YouTube guy on building this kit. Huuuuge help!!
I also dug out an old kit i started many moons ago. Its an #eduard 1/72 F6F-5 Hellcat. I was talking to a friend of mine who knew a pilot from the USS Essex that flew Hellcats from VF-83. This kit just happened to have decals from that unit. So to honor my friend's old boss, I will build it as one from VF-83.
I had originally planned to model the Hellcat as David McCampbell's "Minsi" so it had the windows aft of the canopy.
I had to apply Mr Surfacer 500 and 1000 then wet sanded to remove the engraved detail.
A primer coat should reveal if i succeeded.
But I'll put the Hellcat to the side and complete my F-15. Still a fun build and learning new skills from it!! In this hobby you never stop learning😁😊 #scalemodel#scalemodeler#scalemodelling#plasticmodelkit#plamo#airplanemodelkit#modelkit#hobby#172scale#f15eagle#avgeek#aviation#avgeekforlife
