We find solace in the wild winds. Perhaps one of the most rejuvenating experiences is sitting at the wave’s edge, watching a winter storm brewing upon the horizon. Take time for yourself this weekend – soak up the quiet moments, bathe in the freedom of relaxation.
Nothing better than a jump in the water after a couple of weeks of being landlocked on the road. Beyond psyched @frothy_steven invited me out, thanks brotha.

Rolling hills and dramatic seascapes. After seeing Mendocino in @chrisburkard ‘s photo book: #thecaliforniasurfproject I knew it was a must to stop off and admire the views. We were not disappointed.

Wet and empty of anyone else, we had taken the wrong trail and ended up here. I could feel the magic of this place as we walked up to it. Sometimes the best places are found on accident.

January has been an unreal month filled with jello arms and endless time out on the water back in SoCal. Few better ways to start the day, spend the day, and end the day. Happy Friday to all! Get after it this long weekend! #findyourgoodland
See ya there!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 26. We're stoked to be putting on our 2nd annual #52weeksofnature photo exhibit in Hermosa Beach, California. We'll be showcasing the photography of all 52 winners from our 2018 photo contest. Come hang with the tribe and enjoy some cold beer, street tacos, live music and a night of incredible photography. Just a heads up that we changed the location to a larger venue in Hermosa Beach (updated address is on the flier). In the meantime swipe through to see some shots from last year's event. It was a jam-packed and amazing evening and we're hoping it will be even better this time around. #naturephotographycollective#52weeksofnature

So ultimately stoked to have gotten the opportunity to just post up and cook a meal on this beach. This is the stuff I live for 🙌
I got my lens ball last year but I rarely use it. This year I'm going to make it a point to use it at least once in each new location that I experience (unless I'm backpacking because let's face it, camera gear is heavy and every ounce counts). This is a sunset I captured with @skoobbarnes a few weeks ago down in the cuyahoga valley national park. Everyone should give him a follow! He's got some interesting perspectives.
2018 you were quite photogenic and accommodating and I thank you for that 😊 || There’s not enough time in the day for me to address all that I’m thankful for but after a few significant injuries in my life, just being healthy is at the top of my list || Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone out there, I hope you’re having a great day 🙏🏼🙌🏼 || Pictured above is a mountain range on Maui, at sunset, looking west from Ho’okipa || It was a stunning view to watch as I slowly crab walked in over some shallow and urchin infested reef after shooting some surf at Lanes || #maui#hawaii#travelphotography#natgeoyourshot
One of my favorite images from this past winter, it’s amazing what clear water and small swell can look like from 100 feet up || Pictured is @liamobr_ during an afternoon surf at OTW, Hawaii || @surfer_magazine
It's not everyday that snow decides to fall atop the Santa Lucia Mountain range, a sight that @kyle_buthman@gooch_d and myself had the pleasure of witnessing || At sunrise, the air was brisk and a clear day greeted us. Tshirts were worn as we hiked on the trails and although it felt every bit like winter, it just seemed like another day in Central California || Only as chance would have it, we found ourselves on the south end of Big Sur looking north, completely baffled by this foreign sight || You see, we drove in that morning on the mountain road because Hwy 1 South was closed by landslides, the road was empty and clear. By the time we left later that day, we were having a snowball fight. That was the first and last time I've seen snow in Big Sur || #bigsur#bigsurcoast#highway1south#highway1
Hi Instagram, I’m back. @holyship kept me very busy so I decided to take a little insta break. But I’ve got tons of new work to share with you all. Here’s one from a few weeks ago on a brisk morning with @_stevenwilson 🤙🏻

No matter how many times you see this view it never get old. The sandstone buttes of Monument Valley are some of the most iconic rock formations in the American west. Congrats to @sagebrushdiary for snapping this amazing photo and being the winner of Week 1 of our #52weeksofnature photo contest for 2019. In addition to winning $100 to hippytree.com we are donating an additional $100 to the @accessfund on the winner's behalf. Thank you to everyone who voted for their favorite photo for Week 1 and be sure to cast your vote for Week 2 on our site now (link in bio). #naturephotographycollective#52weeksofnature
I always find what I’m looking for when wandering the coastline. During surfing or while soul searching on foot, the ocean never fails at giving me the peace of mind I need to remain conscious of what is truly important in this life. -

Finally feeling confident about my LR edits after a couple tips from @chrisburkard during his workshop in San Diego last month. Thanks again Chris !
