Pushkar, the jewel of Rajasthan, a favourite amongst Israeli tourists, a dry city where you can find secret beer but you'll have it served to you in a mug, and my first jaunt up an Indian mountain. Pushkar lake has over 50 ghats, one of which is name after Mahatma Ghandi after his ashes were immersed in the water. Upon arrival we were taken down to the lake by a "priest" who collared us on our way to the markets. He engaged us in a short prayer ceremony at the side of the lake, tying a red thread around our wrists, and dotting our foreheads. At the end of our ceremony he told us we were to pay around the equivalent of around £80 for the experience, and became very aggressive when we refused such a high amount, physically threatening and pushing us. These so-called Holy men seem to be a little too motivated by greed, and it shamefully cheapens the entire city experience. I saw my first dead cow here too, a HUGE beast, all four legs up, tongue lolling, swathed in flies. It was a strange day. We found a hostel with a pool, a cute little cafe with some decent cheese and hiked to the highest peak for an amazing sunset, only to have to walk down woefully unprepared for descending the steep sheer rock faces in the pitch black. Worth every second though.

only connoisseurs of stories are not owners of the heart 😟
Sometimes I miss being pregnant. I knew that I was done having kids after Luke was born but every now and then I get baby fever. It’s crazy how fast time passes by. It’s hard to believe that I have a 7, 6, and 2 year old. God has been so good and has blessed me with amazing kids! Enjoy your pregnancy and your babies being little because they grow up way to fast!
