Happy Mother’s Day! It really should be Mother’s Week... Mother’s Month... Mother’s Year. Here’s a fresh one from up north, Whaleback Light at 800mm. With scouting help from @ericgendronphotography Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. Interesting one here with morning light and a storm bank coming in from the west over Boston. Tough to work around that marker in the water there (or whatever it is) and after looking at this a couple weeks later, it’s something I have some ideas to solve with perhaps some different conditions in the future. Anyways, hope everyone has a great weekend, these overcast skies lately are killing me.

Good morning everyone, wow here we are Sunday. Here’s a fun one I really like to do these. Pure photography here, about 10 mins of processing, mostly inspection. The only thing I don’t like about it, is it’s a little too heavy with that main rock there, but this is basically the best angle I could achieve. I spent this morning at Wingaersheek Beach with the primary purpose of shooting the rocks, and they proved to be a difficult subject. This twilight shot was by far my favorite. Anyways, hope everyone has a great weekend, bummer with the rain out here.

Good morning everyone, thank you all for all the congratulations on the birth of Claire! Reading everyone’s comments truly touched my heart. I would love to have responded to each and every one of you, but alas time is escaping my grasp! Just wanted to let everyone know I really appreciate it. I did manage to produce some content this week as well. I shot a couple 3:1 panos of the Boston skyline from my side of town, one of which is up on my site. I can’t quite figure out how to present those on Instagram though. I also took this 100 mpx photo of Graves Light the other morning with beautiful calm conditions. The second frame is what the detail look like at 800mm. Anyways, hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone. We have here an East Boston classic from January 2015, that I remastered over the past couple days using a couple of the original pictures from the set. During a slack tide I got this great angle among the historic piles. Funny story about this image. I won cash in a contest with a derivative of this picture, and all the trolls came out of the woodwork fabricating reasons that I should be refused the money, putting heat on the sponsors. Well I got the money, and those trolling clowns disappeared. Things have a funny way of working out sometimes. Anyways, I’m very pleased to revisit this image and create what I think is a better version. Have a great day, next time you hear from me I will be a father, wish me luck!

Good morning everyone, wow I’m finally better after days of being sick. Many sunrises have come and gone in that time, a lot of lost opportunities. Speaking of which, who’s been down to the East Boston waterfront lately 😩😩😩 there are no more pilings WTF HAPPENED, NO MORE GIANT ROPE 😭😭😭 I remember back in 2014 it was a rotting wood playground. But no more everyone, the cool spots are all gone. RIP East Boston, it was fun while it lasted. Wish I would have made it back a few more times.

Good morning everyone, hope all is well. We have a new one here I’ve been sitting on for awhile. This is Annisquam Light on Wigwam Point in Gloucester. When researching this shot, I figured out how to park and get to the Light from the typical angle over by Norwood Heights Beach, but honestly I didn’t like the windowless side profile. So I starting searching photos from Wingaersheek Beach, and I found a photo I really liked, and it was taken from the flats at low tide. The next morning was low tide, so I paid a visit and got the image you see here. I’ve included a crop at the end, so you can see the detail captured from this distance, although quality is lost on upload. I believe this was a 10 or 20 sec exposure It was a very calm morning. Anyways, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning everyone. Got a fresh one here I took Thursday morning, as the huge moon set behind me. The conditions were perfect visiting one of my old spots, but I struggled to find a good composition from when it was dark until just before sunrise. Constantly changing filters with the change in light, finally I dialed in a sufficient angle, just as time was about up. The rocks are focus stacked front to back, and I intentionally omitted the foreground and background to achieve a soft lead-in and lead-out of the comp, also helping the rocks pop off the surface. Shot with @leefilters 6-stop ProGlass ND, 20 sec exposures. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning everyone beautiful weather out here this morning. I’ve been on a lighthouse kick. I took this yesterday morning as high tide coincided with sunrise. I’m not a huge sun in the sky type guy but this was the only frame with cool lighting on the glass of Fort Pickering (Winter Island) Light. The sun just happened to come up at the tail end of this single 4 min exposure with @leefilters 10-stop Pro Glass ND and 0.9 Hard-edge GND. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning everyone, snowing out here today hopefully it’s the last of that. Cruised up to Rockport yesterday for sunrise, and it ended up being a great morning. I shot this location a few times back in 2017 and never quite got what I was looking for, it’s actually a much more difficult location to shoot than it looks. I’m pretty happy with my result four trips and two years later. Took this with @leefilters 4-stop pro glass ND and 0.9 soft GND, and comparing with and without filter photos this did not detract from sharpness, which I was pleasantly surprised shooting with my 5ds R. Anyways, have a great day everyone hope you are enjoying the weekend!

Good morning everyone happy Friday. Last Sunday the weather was calm so I headed down to the south shore to shoot Boston Light and Graves Light from my favorite angle. I took around 20 frames, and I whittled them down to the sharpest image that you see here. I’m extremely happy with the sharpness, absolutely tack sharp with no atmospheric distortion at 800mm. I kept the processing natural and focused on achieving true white balance by removing casting, as opposed to destroying it by over processing. Shot with Canon 5ds R, 100-400mm 4.5-5.6L II, and 2x III extender. Check out the details on my website, hope everyone has a great day!
