Reece Wilson joins us on the podcast tomorrow!! Make sure you’re subscribed.
This is probably my favourite photo I took at Fort William this year. It was great watching @reecowilson going through the emotions as he sat in the hotseat wondering if he would get his first ever elite World Cup podium! Watching the tears of joy arrive as he realised that the hard work had paid off was pretty special.

What’s your handlebar of choice?? Are you fussy about them??
I love the damping of Carbon bars, but wanted something a little more compliant than I had, so I’ve been trying out these @acros_components 35mm bar and stem and they feel great. A nice shape (8 back, 5 up) and 25mm of rise feels just right. 780mm as standard but I’ve cut them down to 760 to suit. Stiff enough to feel a real positive connection to what you’re doing, but not too harsh on the big hits.

New episode is out, and this time it’s a tech focussed one, taking you behind the scenes of the development of the new @crankbrothers Synthesis wheelset, the first tuned Carbon wheelset for MTB.
Jason Schiers and Mello Bouwmeester join me to discuss their first collaboration, and what it takes to develop a product like this. These guys are some of the top engineers in the industry, and I really enjoyed chatting with them. I hope you enjoy listening, let me know...

‘RocketMAX, the very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every trail on the hill; accept no substitutes.’ What do you think to the new @coticbikes RocketMAX?
I’ve been riding with Cy quite a bit while he’s been developing this bike, and I’ve never seen him so fast and confident on a bike, whilst having a permanent grin across his face! For maximum speed down any trail, this is the one. Head to @coticbikes if you want to find out more...

I like to be able to get my saddle right out the way for the descents, but when I built my bike, the only post available to me that would fit was 125mm drop. It was ok, but meant I struggled with confidence when it got really steep or rowdy, as I kept catching the saddle.
The solution was a @oneupcomponents dropper, the shortest long travel dropper you can get. Now I have 25mm more drop and it’s WAY better. You can even get shims to tune the drop to exactly what you need/want. The shifter style remote is really nice too.
Thanks @oneupcomponents 🙏

What do you think to the new UCI rules for 2019?
Looks like they’ve opened up the possibility of having mismatched wheels sizes! I got super excited and went straight out to try big front wheel, small back wheel (see attached photo) 😂😂

Which would you choose??
The new @wildernesstrailbikes tyres are awesome. From left to right... Vigilante 2.5, Judge 2.4 and Trailboss 2.4. I’ve currently got the Vigilante up front and the Judge out back, and they are handling the changeable conditions that we have in the UK right now really well. Nice tough sidewalls so you can run pressures pretty low without the tyre squirming too much in the turns, and they still roll well. Good work @wildernesstrailbikes#wildernesstrailbikes#mtbtyres#bikecheck#mtblove
Those lovely summer evenings may be fading here in the UK, but that means off-season is here (or nearly here for the EWS lot!). So while the riders take a little time off from racing, who would you like hear from, and what do you want to know? Who has impressed you this season? Who do you think is going to do well in 2019?? Let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to get them on the show!
