The horrible weather outside has me looking at pictures on my phone of a time in my recent past (beginning of January) when I was warm and did not worry about icy roads, shoveling, or starting my car minutes before departure. To you this picture is just another sushi dish, to me I see so much more...I see a dish that has great lighting since the indirect sun gave me the assist, all while I enjoyed the warm breeze that swept across the restaurant as I sat there is my sundress enjoying my first sushi with a teriyaki BBQ sauce.
Happy belated New Years. I have been MIA for a while concentrating on living life, big work project, being present with those I am hanging out with, and eating hot food vs. trying to capture every moment to share socially.
This picture shows the view from my room on my recent trip to Punta Cana where I was enjoying this cup of tea on my last day. Even on vacation I only supported others socially vs. posting since I wanted to relax and enjoy my 4 night stay @ParadisusPuntaCana. Best part of the Reserve section hands down was the pool area as the grounds, furniture, and tranquil setting were perfect for relaxing....oh and BIG PLUS is they have plenty of chairs, so no need to wake up early to save seats by the pool :) I know social media is a complicated beast, however in 2019 instead of trying to follow new tricks for followers, likes, and what to do with hashtags I am just going to do what is easy and feels right to me. Plus, in the past I would try to post a picture in my feed as soon as possible, so others could see in real time, but that just does not happen anymore (unless someone could tell me how to change my settings to see everyone I follow in real time....like the good ol days). I recently was waiting to hear an exciting announcement from an account I was following and just 2 days ago I saw that they made the announcement mid December and I was just getting the news :( Wish I could support more of you that I am following, but I know it is not me...but rather your posts not showing up in my feed and that saddens me. However, I know the reverse also happens for people seeing my posts. Therefore, I am grateful for those of you who do follow/support me and hope you will continue to follow me along on my adventures as I eat, drink, and travel in 2019.
A few weeks have passed and I am still dreaming of these Pop-tart-tins (back fat pastry, braised apple, maple bourbon glaze with triple smoked bacon candy sprinkles) from @Chef_JWFoster@vermillionroom at the epic Grand Cochon event held @citywinerychi. JW a Toronto native, has led culinary teams in iconic hotels from Dallas to San Francisco, Shanghai to the Rocky Mountains. His passion is local and sustainable cuisine as he connects with farmers and ranchers. Even though this plate of food was porktastic the #QueenOfPork goes to @katomlinson as announced by @Cochon555 Founder, Brady & the master of ceremonies @billyharris
