Designing spaces for little ones is super fun, but it can be challenging due to the ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are my three tips for designing a nursery that is stylish and functional:
➕ keep things minimal. Don’t get crazy with lots of bells and whistles. Figure out what your baby essentials are and avoid buying a bunch of extra stuff. It’ll keep clutter down and you’ll spend less money!
➕ don’t go overboard on the toys. In my experience they’ll probably just play with Tupperware anyway, so avoiding buying lots of toys will keep your wallet happy and you won’t have to find places to store all those excess toys. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➕ kids toys are notoriously brightly colored and plastic, which can be annoying if you’re trying to achieve a certain color scheme or have a room that’s more neutral. I have many a toy that doesn’t match my design vibes, but the ones that do can be stored out in the open as cute design elements! For the ones that your kiddo loves but clash, find a great looking storage unit and keep them hidden away. Bonus: it teaches your kid to put their toys away 😂
My ikea shelf in the background does both! I can display Jack’s cute toys in the open shelves and hide the rest away in the white drawers inserted in the bottom of the unit. Win win!

Someone asked me today: “How can i love unconditionally?”
My answer was: “By loving.”
People talk about unconditional love all the time, but Love itself is unconditional. Otherwise it wouldn’t be Love, right?
The real question is: ‘How can i love?’
To love you have to live unconditionally. And that can be quite challenging. But once you do not longer need someone else -anyone, anything or yourself - to be(have) differently in order for you to feel good, you are free. Free to love. And truly free.
The ‘funny’ thing is that it starts with not caring about what other people think or do but just focusing on the love that you are. And looking for things that are easy to love.
By releasing this resistance you become much more powerful and you begin to attract more and more things and people into your life that are simple loveable because you yourself are love. 🧡
Sometimes I think I’m a recovered maximalist but then I see this photo of my living room and I’m like ✔️Leaf wallpaper
✔️Yellow chair ✔️Moroccan rug ✔️Pink door
...k maybe not so recovered. But I love all these things and they make me smile so 🤷🏻♀️
What are you? Maximalist or minimalist?
