That feeling of freedom! Who can't stop thinking about the weekend?
Located along the Icefields Parkway, Bow Lake is just one of dozens of scenic stops. Winter conditions occur on this highway from October through late April. If you (and your car) are prepared for the drive, you'll be treated to magical frozen landscapes with only a fraction of the traffic compared to summer months. Who's up for the adventure? #MyBanff

Safety tip: Accessing backcountry areas means severe weather and avalanches are real hazards. You and everyone in your group must be self-sufficient—carrying all the proper gear (transceiver, shovel, and probe), and have avalanche training.

This once in a lifetime moment was captured by @liamboland - we'll let him describe this extraordinary experience.
"when I close my eyes at night, I see this exact moment. The split second he stared into my soal. It's extremely hard for me to find words that do this moment justice. All I know is it was all I could have wished for. I crossed paths with 'The Boss' and it's likely that I took the last images of him for the year, as he will almost certainly be in hibernation now.
For those who don't know anything about the 'The Boss', also known as Bear 122, he is the alpha male of the Banff region. He is the father to 80% of the current cubs in Banff, he's eaten at least two black bears and has survived a collision with a train." - @liamfboland
